My quest for a legal (cheap) copy of PS continues but to no avail. I salivated over the prospect of a copy during the discussion of a FF competition, but we all know what happened there.
I have a copy of PS elements that came with my wacom tablet, but I am starting to need CMYK and have reached a point where PS elements can't do what I need it to. Anyway if any of you internet/graphic art savy individuals know where to get a cheap (LEGAL) version of PS it would greatly aid me in my elusive quest. To bad I can't just swap 10 HU in for CS3 or PS or something of the sort ![]() Cheers. |

http://cgi.ebay.com/Adobe-Photoshop-C...dZViewItem - A used boxed version might be legal ? You'd havta look it up, but $108.50 for CS2 seems pretty darn cheap. Or get PS6 for like $74 - http://cgi.ebay.com/Adobe-Photoshop-6...dZViewItem and upgrade for $149 or whatever it is, if that's a legal route to go. I think it is with boxed software that hasn't been registered, but again you'd want to look that up on the Adobe site and see what they say about it.

i got cs2 for $150 u.s. and cs3 upgrade for $5. these were full versions, FROM ADOBE and not 'educational' copies. Adobe sent them to me, not some clone person or e-bay or something. it was Adobe. i got it off a promotional web site belonging to Adobe. i even called them to make sure this was correct. and since it was within a couple months of the release of cs3, they said they would upgrade it for free. the $5 was just for shipping and handling.
the bottom line is, yes, Adobe products recommended retail price is pretty steep, but if you look around on their site, look for promotional discounts and so on, you can generally get their stuff for at least 50% off. If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

I hear you Redcap! My thoughts too, no wonder why people do get illegal versions of software. Mind am trying to figure out why paint shop is way cheaper than photo shop?
Um.. plan for today.. trawl around the Adobe website ![]() Nothing wrong with a little insanity ;)

Redcap ... don't you qualify for academic pricing? You get a new, complete version at highly discounted pricing if you do. the only thing there is you don't get discounts on upgrades to later versions ... but that's a small price to pay.

Just read their FAQ Redcap, looks like it could be legit, not like one I found a week or so back, that one I realised after I bought something wasn't legit. So now I tend to read the FAQ's etc on the sites before hitting the buy button. Nothing wrong with a little insanity ;)

well half price is nothing to be sneezed at, although even that price is out of my budget at the moment.. must start saving again. I wont post the site I found, being that they are not legit versions.

I found the Adobe web premium for $600 (listed price is $1700) . Adobe CS4 is coming out sept 26, should I buy now and upgrade later if I need to or should I should I wait for CS4. Only worry is I will not find it for $600.
