Not a nice thought but unless the prices come down or production goes up, things will get worse, and soon. Like that report said knock on effect.

It's pure greed.....they all know that it is going to exhaust in about ten years.....and they are going to milk whats left for all they can get..... Steve

Not to interupt, but "peak oil" is a fallacy. In fact, at $4 a gallon, we're about to see more oil wildcatters in the next couple years than we have in 100 or more ha-ha. Relax, there is no shortage of oil, just of common sense, and someday (approx 20-40 years from now supposedly), a slight lack of super cheap and super easy to get oil.

They are estimating that it will exhaust in 2018......mostly due to the skyrocketing demand of India and China.....

----Naw, the rest of us will just buy less of it as the price goes up, so in that sense, the Chinese can have half of it if they wanna pay $4+ a gallon. That projected 'demand' is all speculative anyways, and a lot of it will go away as our economy (in the U.S.) slows even more. I repeat, there is no visible end to the oil, just the kind they can sell for $2 a gallon and make billions from ha-ha. There'll always be more in our lifetimes, they'll just havta drill deeper and in different places, and that's gonna make $4 a gallon gas seem cheap then. jffe Filter Forger |
