As it is not possible to use 3D inside FF, after having tried the following 3D software in NO special order
Autodesk 3Ds Max 2016 Autodesk Maya 2016 The Foundry Modo 901 3D Coat Smith Micro Poser 2014 Daz Studio 4.8 Iridium Blender 2.75 I still think that for me the easiest and best 3D software is Cinema 4D, for me is the most easy, intuitive and with a very good and friendly interface, you can learn it much better than any of the above 3D software, at least from my point of view and with my little experience in 3D The others may have possibly more features, more options, maybe more quality, and can maybe do better things, but is not easy to use them as with Cinema 4D And what is important for me, and for putting this here, is for using FF 3D render maps is also easier with Cinema 4D than with the others Of course that this is my personal and own opinion, and I do not mean that the others are bad |

Just an opinion here: I feel like Cinema4D r17 is the weakest upgrade out of all versions so far. It kinda has improvements, but it doesn't pop at me as a upgrade, more like a 0.5 version upd ate. It's the "eh well, not bad" thing. I'd say the spline tools are fantastic, but most people probably work off of Illustrator or something else anyway. I guess a bit of ease with it is nice, but not necessarily worthy of a upgrade price tag.
Note that a lot of the features listed in r17 are very much available in other software packages as essential tools, LONG before this update. Another critique of Cinema4D, at least for me, has been the real irritating seemingly obscured UV tools. It seems like it's never been the strong point of the program, and given a lot of the cut-n-dash tools like Mograph are strongly in power when it comes to C4D. BUT, I lately came to conclusion that Maya + Mash plugin = probably better than Mograph over all. Plus it integrates with Maya's existing features which makes this tool seriously powerful. Here's a link to Mash: https://mash.mainframe.co.uk/ In the end I really don't know where C4D is going with their stuff. It's exciting, but also kinda disappointing. It's powerful... but catching up. But I have to say, the simplicity of the program is absolutely fantastic. It's fun to use once in a while, but my primary 3D software is Modo.... you just can't beat the price tag and the feature se t. |
