NOTE: This is not a Spam thread, and I do not get nothing for putting this here, is just to help FF users to earn some money if they want and also to help FF Inc. company to make it more popular and that people could want to use it more if they can learn to use it.

I have seen that the prestigious, very famous and huge stock photos company Shutterstock wants to joint the train of many other companies that are earning money selling video tutorials, so they have created their own dedicated company for this www.skillfeed.com

What is Skillfeed ?

Skillfeed is the easiest way to learn creative skills, such as design, photography and video. Instructors from around the world submit video tutorials for review by our team. We make the best tutorials available to our members, and then pay instructors based on the popularity of their content.

The reason I am putting this here is because they are searching for anyone that wants to make video tutorials about any software available, and then they pay the person when his/her videos are seen on the website.

See here the information how to earn money making your video tutorials

There is no Filter Forge video tutorials yet, but you could start to make them and upload them to this website and could earn some money with it.

Considering that there is no other source of Video tutorials available, this could be perhaps a huge sucess with thousands of FF users waiting for someone to show and teach how to use FF and how to make filters with FF.

Until now there has been only some free video tutorials available on the forum.

As FF Inc. does not pay you for uploading filters, you could earn some money from your experience and skills using Filter Forge and showing what you know and have learnt already about how to make filters or how to use the filters already available with images.

I think is a very good opportunity and could be good to consider it

I can´t make any video tutorials because I am not any expert, and do not know how to teach and explain things in the right for a whole audience and also have a very bad voice, and bad english when speaking.

NOT ONLY FOR FILTER FORGE

Of course that you could also earn money making video tutorials for other different software if you want, and not only for FF.

Let's talk about making video tutorials. It's a lot of energy, time, and planning. When making video tutorials, I sit down and spare at least an hour or two hours planning something that's viewable, easy to understand, and clear. I then spend an hour or two rehearsing where I'd typically catch silly mistakes and faulty lines. So after a couple rounds of taking a look at the mess I make, I settle down and a couple takes and typically nail it. I'd then check it, export it, and do whatever else I need to do.

It seems easy, and Skillfeed makes it seem like a great platform but I for one thing don't know what's inside. There's no guarantee that I as a tutorial maker would be getting that times worth of money. I don't know what tutorials saturate the market, what demands there are, but know that I only get a percentage of what I make based on a couple things. It's better than nothing sure, but I'd have to wait for the benefits to return.

So you basically have to be careful. What services you accomplish should have an equal or higher reward especially when you're teaching! smile;)

My critique and my thoughts about that website.

I know that making video tutorials is not something easy, and takes much planning, time and knowledge and skills to do it, and know well how to teach, and more specially when is made for a professional and worldwide audience

When I have put this thread was for helping to get something for all this work and not do it for free as it happens if you would do it for the forum or any blog /website you may have, so you earn something for all your hard work, but I agree that you do not know how much you would get for your work and there is no guarantee that you will earn a lot of money doing it, but considering that surely in that website there will not be others teaching this FF software, so you will not have any competition, unless someone's else FF expert will do it also.

I just wanted to let anyone know that this exists and is available, and so you can decide and evaluate if you would be interested in this or not

I'm basically going by my experience of doing art business. The issue here is basically that there are several unknown variables which can't be known without insider information.

To create a win-win the balance of me teaching vs visibility of my tutorials, amount of demand, percentage who watch the entire thing has to balance out.

Given the way Skillfeed pays us, we'd be going by the "minutes watched" which is essentially kinda hard given some people are essentially going to be: the skipper or the actual viewer. The thing is, I haven't read the entire agreement and contract but I just can't tell if seeing 1/30th of a frame counts as "viewed" or if the whole thing simply goes by seconds viewed. (Blah blah so many other details).

It's a bit harsh but you know... everybody's somehow greedy to an extent and I've had countless hours of my life taken away to people who take advantage of what I know. It's very demanding to keep myself afloat while doing all of that!! And when stuff starts involving money, it's not as simple as it gets.

They're allowing payouts after you reach $75. I'd rather have that $75 in my pocket to make $75 worth of video tutorials. smile;)
