I've needed to stitch some images at work and in the past used this one from Microsoft which worked pretty well

Don't forget Photoshop does have one internally! It's not bad either, just kinda lacking which those softwares can easily fill the gap.
The Appstore (if you're on the mac) features a dozen panoramic and HDR compositing apps fairly cheap as well!  |

Actually never tried the Photoshop one if you can believe it. Will give it a test.
