This one looks useful and fun. At the link below you will see a very short movie that shows you what it can do. It's free, and runs on Win or Mac. I have not tried it yet.

Thanks Andrew B. This is a great little program. It cut my time in half making tiles with multiple images in them. It also lets me see how it will look tiled before I commit to a pattern. I also love that I can make the background transparent so I can put the tile over any color background and not have to have hundreds of different color tiles. Super tile maker and the free price is the icing on the cake.

Are there options for the 17 symmetry groups in these or any softwares not mentioned here?
