So, those of you who read the forums probably know I am having some computer problems. What you don't know is that it's the least of my problems... Here's a partial list from the last two weeks:
1) My car battery died. 2) Rear left blinker in my car works only now and then. 3) After replacing the battery, it seems the coil is busted, or one of the spark plugs is missfiring. 4) My dishwasher died. A thecnitian replaced the main board, that fixed it for around 3 minutes, then it started acting up again. Jury is still out as to what causes it. 5) The air conditioner in my car blows nothing but hot air, which is not too useful when the temp inside the car reaches 160-195 degrees F (70-90 C). 6) Air conditioner at home just pushes air around, not cooling. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

It's not like that usualy. Most of the time things actually work.
But you know how it is, something breaks, and then everything else joins in on the fun ![]() anyway, the car AC was fixed, and the the engine was tuned up (wasn't the coil this time). It was cheaper than I expected. The battery was more expensive than I thought, so it kinda balanced it ![]() The blinker now seems to work as it should, after I messed around with the contacts of the bulb. That was free ![]() |

Glad to hear that you have been able to solve most of the things and finally it has turned some things right.
Is true that sometimes something breaks, and others things unexpectedly also break at the same time |

Oh, I forgot to add my cordless phone to the list. For some reason it thought it's a jet engine the other day, and instead of a dial tone all it could do is make a super loud noise. Unplugging it from the electricity for a minute seemed to make it work again

While the electric company here is well know for it's ability to destroy computers and appliences for whole neighbourhoods, that doesn't explain the car trouble, or the problems my wife's cellphone started having today....

Hi Morgan. It seems you are having the old "troubles come in bunches" attack. I get those too. I could have done without this years "bunch" myself. But it will get better.... or not. LOL My cars electric window motor in my car decided it didn't want to stay affixed to my door anymore last week, and so I took it in to get it fixed. When I got my car back the lock button didn't work. Good grief! LOL Lucky it was just the mechanic had forgotten to plug the lock wire back in. I'm still trying to get use to this new computer of mine too. I have decided I hate Windows 7. LOL Hope things get better for you.

If you have problems with the electricity company you could try to use some filter protection plugins in the wall sockets where you have the important appliances connected, and this way could reduce much the risk of destroying your domestic appliances and more specially your computer.
If you can afford it I would recommend a good SAI to protect it. I mean a good one as there are some that are very cheap but very but quality, and also you have to buy one that can cope with the watts consumed by your computer. |

I did too, so I made it look and behave as much as Win XP as possible ![]()
Yep, got those on everything that is more complex than a light bulb or a fan. Some are more expensive, some less, but hopefully they will do their job at the money time ![]() |

Why ??? For me the Windows 7 is the best Windows ever and I did not like at all Vista, but I like very much 7, and would never want that it was like XP (second best version behind 7) |

I have trouble with changes.
I remember using DOS while everybody was using Windows 95. I used windows 3.1 for stuff that demanded windows to work, and only loaded it when I needed those specific programs. I'm always about a year late to upgrade my OS. Windows 7 was the only OS I adopted early, but then I made it look and behave old ![]() When I was in highschool, I taught myself 3D Studio 3. Then came 3D Studio 4, which was pretty much the same but looked different, and I didn't like it much. Then they had a leap forward in technology, and introduced 3DS Max, and I just couldn't work with it, it was too different, so I gave up on 3D. My computer was never fast enough to render any of my animations anyway, so why bother. I also used Photoshop CS until recently, because CS2 and newer had a new design, and that made it hard for me to work with them. And up until CS5, anything Photoshop could do automatically, I could do manually. |

I'm sure I will get use to the Windows 7, but I am like Morgan when it comes to change. I had XP in my other computer, and I really liked it. I have a few older programs and some of them are now no longer compatible. That really isn't Windows fault, as much as it is the programmers that don't update or lost interest in their work. I'll work the bugs out one of these days.

Good thing that is back to the usual and "normal" things that usually happens

Yep. To make things worse, EVERYTHING today has a computers in it. Your dishwasher, your car, your washing machine, your microwave over, your TV, your cellphone, audio player, even your pacemaker, all have computers controling them.
While this can make thigs more efficient and cost effective, it's also really easy for a manufacturer to program in a time bomb, that will kill the product after the warranty has ended. I'm not saying that every manufacturer puts in a death timer in their product, but they sure COULD if they wanted to. |
