Because HTML5 happened and Flash meat a dead end. So the company had to take steps to avoid dying.
Aviary itself is pretty much a gone tool overall. Must have been a hard decision to let go of it all... |

Flash maybe dead man waling, but what about Adobe Edge? Can't all Flash projects be ported to HTML5 with it?
I haven't tried it yet, but Edge looks and feels 100% like Adobe Flash |
