They certainly have improved Blender since last time I looked at it - seems to have all the right features, I think it might be better than Truespace Steve, Ron your maya knowledge would transfer over to it and Belaria with your skill of learning you might want to give it a go - and of course it is FREE smile;) smile:D

Way ahead of you..... smile:D Blender is more technical, more control, uses Python (like Maya), and is difficult to learn. TrueSpace has more applications, it's own SDK, node-based editor, unrivalled support, overwhelmingly frienly forum community, and the program is on a much faster track for improvements and associations.....like currently planning enhancements for direct association with Xbox for game development, etc.....

I think both TrueSpace and Blender can be used in conjuction with one another.....especially towards taking advantage of having multitudes of "free" light rendering options.....not only native, but dedicated "free" plugins..... smile:devil:

I was hoping that Ron and Bel would get into them too..... smile:devil:

There is alot out there......but they try to get you with the extras.....like buying V-Ray for TrueSpace, plugins for Blender, advanced scripts, etc..... smile;) smile:)

Throw FF and PS into the mix......and you're on your way..... smile:devil:

Blender looks much better than I had assumed it would. I will add those videos to my queue. I hope you're right about much of my maya knowledge transferring. smile:|
I want to get through these texturing and rendering dvd's before I make any decisions.
Have you downloaded Blender or trueSpace?

I think truespace uses python too but I did not see support for v-ray.

Yep, there's a version of V-Ray specifically for TrueSpace.....

It went from looking cute to ominous. I like it but I think the colors from the second one applied to the last one would be a nice combo. How long does it take to render?

Btw, I’m taking page 107 off notice but on a probationary basis. Let’s see what it does with it.

oh that your dust I'm eat is it, I'm lazy if the truespace is easier - but blender renders nicely with out having to buy v-ray and has clay modeling and game engine [ Belaria there is a script for importing Terragen ] - I do like node based programs and would be better to learns something that I can bounce questions off you [ in other words get you to learn it for me smile:dgrin: ] I think blender can do alot more but do I want to do alot more, I reckon Ron would be at home with Blender and not have to pay anything to do everything he wants - but for me truespace sound easier, I don't know, I'm going to sulk in the corner [ and thats a real corner not a digital corner smile:D ]

I just looked at it on my LCD and it looks much better. My CRT is great for blacks and saturation but it does not do sharpness and brightness very well.
