yeah, that sounds about right, ron, but i've never seen it in a package or write-up somewhere. i'd be very curious to know what that software is and if just about any old camera would work.

i've seen shots of folks that use this sort of thing for studio work and i've always kind of drooled over it, but never seen a hardware/software list and write-up of what you'd need and need to do. even those web cams where they stream video of an eagle nesting or something like that... i dont know what it would take.

ok, and why would slr (ttl) only give you stop motion? you lost me on that one. certainly there is a stop when you push the shutter; i get that. but, i'm also talking real time viewing when the shutter hasnt been pushed yet; is that possible with an slr? from what i gather, you're saying it wouldnt be, that with the mirror in the up position during no shooting, the output from the camera is sending only during shooting. but, i've seen rigs, or rather images/videos of rigs, where they are viewing in real time, through the lens, to the pc display. that's what i'd like to know how to do, as well as the to the pc during shooting or just after shooting.

hehe, i guess i'm going to have to do some research on this. i think the hasselblad's can do this. i'll have to start looking around.

Hasselblad has always been committed to photography and to photographic developments. Our goal is to put the best cameras in the world into the hands of the most demanding photographers in the world.

For the past four years we have developed the Hasselblad H System platform and are now in our fourth generation of H System cameras. Constant refinement and improvement of our production processes have led to even higher product quality - and now have enabled us to lower the price on the Hasselblad H3DII-31.

It is now possible for you to purchase a Hasselblad H3DII-31 kit (camera body, viewfinder, and 80mm lens) at a new, lower price of $17,995.

The H3D-31 provides all the technological and photographic benefits of the Hasselblad H System and will help any discerning photographer take their photography to entirely new levels. The H3DII-31 features:

A 44x33mm, 31 Megapixel sensor (larger, more light sensitive pixels than on smaller sensors, resulting in higher quality images and more satisfied customers)
Phocus software interaction enabling auto correction of distortion, chromatic aberration, vignetting, automated moiré removal, etc. directly on RAW files
Access to all H System lenses
Unmatched creative flexibility: (upgradeable, choice of viewfinders, view camera option, storage options, and more)
High-speed capture architecture

i'll take 6 of these, too smile:) smile:D

I think your camera would be excellent for that - even way too much.

the mirror is in the way. Canon has a mirror lock-up mode that microscopists use but I have not heard of it being used to capture video. That doesn't mean it can't be done. smile:)

Olympus has a dSLR that will do this - even has an LCD preveiw but I'm not sure they make it any more.

yeah, thought it must be the mirror. ok.

i also recall in the dim reaches of my memory, a rig that used a laptop to control the camera. not only did you get real time viewing on the laptop from the camera, but you also controlled the shooting and settings of the camera from the laptop. but, that was a while back and like i say, dim reaches of memory smile:)

I sold all of my camera equipment last year.....full Pentax 67 sytem with all lenses, accessories, etc....traditional photography is just too tedious, time-consuming, and expensive. I'm waiting for the prices to come down on the high resolution digital..... smile:eek:

Well, if I had the money to blow, I would most certainly pick up the Hasselblad H3D-39II..... smile:devil:

I consider Pentax lenses to be the best in the business.....so that's why I bought my previous camera. Right now, Pentax bodies are lacking in comparison to the others.....so I'm going to wait and see what Pentax releases next year.....just because I want their lenses.....

ah, glass... steve, there are a number of good glass makers. leica is good. canon is good. not sure if nikon makes their own or buys, but it's good, whatever it is. i didnt know pentax made their own. that's worth knowing. generally, i'd trust anything by canon or nikon. they've been at it for years and they keep each other honest smile:)

Yeah, that weould seem to be the case with those companies.....

The Cannon EOS 1DS looks pretty good.....but if you want to skip the brand mark-up, the Sony DSLR A900 is basically the same thing for a few thousand less.....

Putting it in context.....gotta be heavy into it for that kind of money..... smile;)

Question is are they hits to view what artist's are displaying, how many artists are selling stuff? Are the people only hitting the site to copy pictures they like? Not sure if I have seen water marks over stuff. Even though it does say on there that the creators have the copyrights etc how many people understand or even give a toss in this day and age?

I think this page:

http://market.renderosity.com/mod/bcs...stWanted=Y

lists the best selling items on renderosity.com.

And this:

http://market.renderosity.com/mod/bcs...stWanted=Y

is the single best selling item.

This item appears to be, two girls in 40 poses, wearing 3 outfits. So who is buying this? What do people do with these girls once they get them?

Craig, yes the camera is live veiw [ same as the 3inch LCD on the back ] and all of the controls on the camera are available on your pc or laptop, you just plug it into the pc with the usb cable supplied with the camera and install the program [ Window Veiw ] off the disc that comes with the camera, which also has separate programs of raw, stitch, digital photo pro, style editor, zoombrowser, original data security, Eos utility, Wft utility and a couple of other things.

Steve unfortunatly pentax has dropped the ball with there digitals with a real problem of phantoms.

Superfically alot of cameras look good to a certain point, in the detail shadows posterizing is a common problem when large enlargemants are made, this is the sensor not the mega pixels, over 8mp you will be hard pushed seeing the difference with a 16mp camera unless your planing to do billboards - the sensor is critical followed by the lens.

I have been watching the modeling videos for the human female. I decided that I should go ahead and start the project but leave it open. It will be nice to have the model plus it will give me something to fiddle with in my spare time. Plus I need to get my left hand trained in using the keyboard. smile:evil: After I learn more about texturing and lighting I may even want to apply that to the model. I am still looking for training DVDs for texturing and lighting so this will give me something to do until I find something.

I actually still have a box of shot film still undeveloped in my refridgerator..... smile:|

My favorite photo excursions were exploring up through mountain streams looking for "fairy glens" smile:fairy: and waterfalls that had never been photographed before. I'd pack up the camera, two or three lenses, and a lightweight tripod in one of my camera backpacks.....pick up a satelite phone.....and literally hike/climb up through the streams in the water to places that no one had been before. It was very relaxing.....hung out and took pictures when I found beautiful areas.....smoked a little.....swam in the pools......and moved on to next area and did the same thing. It was nice because RL issues just melted away and kinda cleaned the soul.....

Nowadays, I've only occasionally been doing some photogram work here and there.....but I plan on getting back into it some day down the road here with a digital system.....

How about you, Craig, Bel, and Carl......what types of pics do you all like to take??? smile:)

there are 'types' of pictures? i just take pictures! smile:) i was experimenting with all sorts of things, nature, close-up nature, portrait, landscape, macro, sports, natural portraits... whatever was available. i was buying glass and extension tubes and filters and accessories and whatever i could afford. at one point i tried to apprentice to a studio guy using medium format cameras, but he wouldnt go for it, saying i didnt have enough experience in medium format (which was true; i had none). so, i was into it for a while.

LOL I like photos of the world around me of all types for general photography but I like total control over my photos, so I like to construct/build and light etc in a studio [ I use the word studio loosely smile:D ] situation for my photographs [ hence loving being able to view and control shots on the pc smile;) ], of course being able to make filters smile:loveff: to add another layer or paint draw into them appeases creativeness and my need to express visually internal and external stimuli smile:)
