well, if you make the textures in FF, sounds like a good candidate for the halloween thread here.

I noticed that for compositing software you selected Shake. Shake uses a node based user interface. Did that play a large role in your decision? Do you prefer node based products? smile:bunny:

Yeah, I don't think anyone uses it. I think most people use something called Stitch - or something like that - I don't remember.

no, ron, i havent. as i recall, the recommendations for the lighting environments was 400 x 200. this is quite a bit off that. i suppose i could trim it, though smile:) still, this started as a high res image. i cut it down for posting here, but cutting it down to 400 x 200... that's cutting things pretty close to the quick.

btw, if i didnt make that clear, that stitching was done inside the camera after i took the three shots. there is a special mode you enter to do panoramas and it allows you to take 3 shots, giving you a thumbnail view of the last shot so you can line things up with the new shot. it does that after the first two shots. then, when you've taken the third, the internal software does the stitching. pretty cool smile:)

did you touch it up - i presume not, joined beautifully [ nice pic too ] cs2 doesn't match up perfectly and contrast between shot can be fiddly to balance between shot where you have a localized light scource

nope. no touching up there, carl. that's how it came out of the camera. i'm not sure how kodak did it internally, but if you line it up fairly closely with the thumbnail, the camera seems to be smart enough to find the right place to seam them together without a visible line. i've been pretty impressed with that feature in this camera.

I was noticing on this page at Renderosity.com that is says this:

"Any product you upload into one of the Categories between now and the end of the year will have an automatic 60% split for the life of the product. Don't miss this special - upload today!"

Does that mean they take a %40 cut of any artwork sold? smile:|

Pretty much the same things as everyone likes.
I like a lot of light in a image filled mostly with blackness, shadows and silhouette.
I like a lot of light deep with the foreground filled with blackness.
I like the background to open into spaciousness with foreground closed in blackness.

What about you?

Not sure Ron, I signed up with them but never sold from cause I couldn't figure that out myself, the 3dcommune one takes a 30% cut if you sell anything.

Nature, elements (weather, clouds etc), Animals.. um mind that comes under nature to some extent lol!!

People depending on my mood, probably about 25% of the photo's I have taken have people in and probably 5% of that is by accident cause they bloody got in the way!

carl, how do you use that connected to a pc? i mean, what software and physical connections and so on? if i had the camera and a laptop, what else would i need to get a real time showing on the laptop of what the camera was seeing?

also, have any of you ever set up a real time video camera, web cam or anything of that sort to a real time pc display or to a streaming video output?

Since SLR's are TTL (through the lens) the best you can get is stop motion. But I think your camera will do what you're asking. I do not know what software to use. Canon bundles remote control software with the camera. As far as hardware goes, you probably only need the usb cable you already have.

now I am curious I just got an email from Renderosity because I have an account. It says about selling art through them and I get 60% but only for things I upload before the 31st of December 2008. Like wow 40% cut? Hate to think what the normal cut is.. probably 50% or more
