Blackbooks kinda vanished, either that or they moved it to a new slot.. Father Ted was funny, but the swearing was done in such away that it worked.

I heard Dudly Moore on an old radio show. He was very funny. I did not care for his movies though.

red dwarf was a hoot. i have most of those on tape. and yes, monty python was cool, especially the movies. flying circus not quite as good, but definitely some good bits here and there. i loved the arguement one where the guy goes to pay for having an arguement with a professional.

american humor is better in the movies than the canned series tv stuff. at least for the most part. i do like 'two and a half men' though. that one tickles me.

the difference between brit and american humor is that american tries to club you over the head with things... it's that 'lowest common demominator' stuff. brit humor, on the other hand, tends to make you reach for it a bit, well, except for the truly silly stuff like what's his name that was always chasing the half-clad women. and silly is ok if it's not pretending to be anything but silly. but situation comedy on american tv is really not very good any more. back in the days of 'the dick van dyke show' and 'mary tyler moore' and some others, it was still new and fresh and quite entertaining, but you'd think they'd have varied the routine by now and freshened it up.
If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!
