You can also insert them with the 'Image' button by pasting the link of the icon location in a previous thread.
For example, here is the same icon but using the image button.

and now here it is using the attach a file option

I figured out a way to make them links but now I'm too tired to remember what I did - it was a little strange. When I remember it I will post it.

You can also make the emoticons links by:

right click on the emoticon and copy the image location

then click on the image button and paste the location of the emoticon

then cut that command and place it somewhere

then click on the link button and paste in the link of where you want the emoticon to link to

then past the saved command into the name of the link.

How's the Dreamweaving going Carl?

The modeling has slowed down considerably. I decided to do the modeling on my own then watch the video on how it should be done. I thought this would get me out of the mindset of follower. So now I find out which video is next, like door or whatever, then model the door, then watch the video on how to model the door. This method gives me the opportunity to formulate questions that I know will be answered shortly. I have been stuck a few times, once for two solid days, but I have been able to get it figured out - eventually. I am more proud of the results because it is not just monkey do.

I highlighted in green the piece of geometry that had been kicking my butt for three days. It looks simple now but it went through several crazy permutations.

You can see how I built out my curve network. The instructor doesn't use one like this but it helps me a lot.

There is only one triangle in the whole thing. I just cannot figure out how to get rid of it. Fortunately it does not seem to be messing up the smooth. Btw, this mesh is the proxy mesh - the smooth version looks much better but you can't tell much from that one. The proxy mesh being the part I generated by hand and the smooth mesh being the part maya generates based on the proxy.

No. I like story telling. I can do it on a one-on-one basis but I do not have the training I need to write something. I consider it one of my most debilitating shortcomings. smile:(
Have you ever written anything like that?

On the special feature of the Hellboy dvd they had a comic book expert speak about the field of comics. It was especially interesting because comics rely so heavily on the reader to fill in what happens between each frame. The story teller gives the audience very little to work with compared to say a movie or book.

interesting format, but never had a particular love of comics in general but there are some exception of non mainstream arthouse style, some of the illustration can be interesting and overtly expressive.

Your renderings is going well and I admire your rebellion from the monkey smile:)

Don't expect too much. Real life is always relentless and it is a difficult field. Even when it seems like nothing is happening that's when the most is happening - all your hard work will pay off.

because of two reasons - the tie in with PS / indesign / illustrator and it seem easier smile:blush:

I have been only showing caps from the viewport so I thought it might be interesting to show some of the other ways to see things in maya. Here is one of the panel layouts. It shows three orthogonal views and the perspective view.

Here is the graphical node display editor, called the Hypergraph Hierarchy. On the left there are the camera nodes, next is the group containing the curve nodes for the curve network, then the group containing the polygonal objects. Notice the node selected is the rearFender_geo. On the next image I will load it (rear fender node) into the graphical i/o connections editor.

Here is the i/o connections editor. This is showing the nodes that go in (the inputs) to making up the polygon mesh of the rear fender. These inputs make up this node's history.
Notice the selected nodes are the rearFender_geo and the initialShadingGroup. I will now load them into the connections editor so you can see how to change connections – just like Filter Forge. smile:)
