Ok, I will save it and compare it to the new one.

The scifi version sounds interesting. When you say sci-fi do you mean a more Ridley Scott scifi or a Steven Spielberg scifi?

Not a creature is stirring. I have been completely focused on moving verts around. Modeling is very cool. smile:D

That seems like something I should know by now but I do not. They have very different histories, design philosophies and user cultures. Maya is the leader but 3ds max is a leading package. I think they do mostly the same things.

I hear in the forums where a lot of people struggle when they move from one to the other.
I chose Maya because it has a free learning edition (PLE) with no expiration. Plus it is what is used by ILM and CafeFx.

Ahh.. I found that with Photoshop, when I downloaded the one month trial. Am so used to Paint shop pro, that I was hunting for the features from that one in Photoshop smile:(.

Even though Photoshop has some cool features most can be achieved from plug-in's and filter forge smile:D smile:loveff:

There is still a lot of work to do even parts that have been modeled already. It would look a lot better with some material definitions like the glass for the headlights.

Probably does, but I downloaded FF just after and kinda forgot about Photoshop while playing about inside the filters.

That's the way it was for me too. In the beginning I would use it inside PS but eventually I started using it standalone.

Not the non-square one - I had to loose that effect to get the non-square images to work.

Yep am thinking the same for when I start using Daz3d more and things like that. How to incorporate what I have learned and created with FF.

If you mean the atmosphere filter - notice the location slider - that slider rotates the environment ball top to bottom.

Thanks for the Daz link. It says it does animation too so it must have some rigging capabilities. That seems like a very good way to get started.

Um.. oops! I have been mainly making textures and uploading into SL, and um tweaking my filters.. until today when I downloaded a fair few filters from the library.. mainly base image manipulation ones, but did download the odd texture one too. Yay me for having the version that lets me change filters/make them too smile:D smile:loveff:

Do you?

When I was rigging I stared a the screen silently for hours at a time. Now that I'm modeling I have turned into a sound effects machine. smile:| I talk to the screen, make sounds as I place vertices, all kinds of crazy noises. I guess it uses a different part of my brain. smile:)
