I'll have to check your filters Carl and rummage through her vendors and see.

Not sure ahismsa, but why ask when you are already selling them for 1L$ each, mind I did buy one of Conniekat8's and it does say was created by Conniekat8 part from would be better if it says Conniekat8 from Filter forge.

Okay been talking to her in SL seems someone from FF that she contacted, suggested she sells them for 1L$ each to cover costs. But if you don't want her to sell the textures or to have them in her SL store she'll take them down, or put them at 0L$ and just have the donation pot out, which is there too.

Part from due to the presets being available as they are people will use them and sell them if they can in places like Second life. With or without permission.

okay I've been chatting with Ambrosia ref the textures and SL. While doing so I popped into a texture house and noticed one of my presets for sale in a pack of 10 same preset but different colour tones, at 375L$.

I think what Ambrosia is planning on doing is probably a good idea.

It costs the person uploading, her that is 10L$ per texture, thats why some people say she can sell them for 1L$ each to get back a bit of the money and help to pay the rent (and help to cover her upload charge for the textures) for the land she's using to run the free/cheap store on.

But She has said if your rather she didn't have your presets at the freebie store she would take them down. The 1L$ charge on them will help her with some of the fee's she is paying for herself. But she will set them to 0L$ if you would prefer, allowing her to have the textures, and stopping others in SL making money from the presets (while making people aware where the textures came from to start with).

Okay if that doesn't make sense let me know..

Am tempted by that $199 pack with all them bits in will be cheaper than buying just the Carrar6 pro. Mind might have to wait for the next sale period..

I gave her the go ahead ref the presets too, mind I did say I'll upload them and she can give them ones way for free totally, and I will be in my store as well. Will only be the preset textures though.

She was told that she can't use the presets as they belong to FF, so I am making her textures that she can use. I have been talking to her and I like her.

Ron, wake up! We are talking about letting a lady give our textures away free at SL. Talking about the EULA is pointless anyway.

yup, very same thing and all moot since they can sell them, rip them up, alter them and do damn well anything they want with them, including the presets, without any consideration toward the author. so, yes, it's a "pretend the eula doesnt read the way it is" discussion.
If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

It's too bad you have to wait for the next sale cycle for Carrara. You can download Maya's PLE for free in the mean time. This would allow you to get started and to check out how Maya does it. smile:) I'm not pushing Maya, just thought you might benefit from taking a look.

Well by the time I save the money for Carrara I think the sale will be off. Cause need to get the platinum to get the discount too. So I might try the one month for free in a little while and do it that way.

Most I know about cars is they use fuel, have engines, and wheels, etc.. smile:D

That's more than I know about FF license issues. All I know is that I have a copy ( smile:loveff: ) and when it's time to make textures for my own projects, not to post them until I have finished with them.

I just finished the modeling tools section of my tutorial DVD's. In other words, I am exactly where I thought I was about six months ago. smile:( It have been aggravating but this is far from the worst of my miscalculations. smile:)

The lightning stopped so I came back online. I see from the satellite that there is more lightning on the way so I had better get back offline.
Fortunately I can watch my tutorials on my pda.

Have a good one. smile:)

OMG I think my computer burped or something cause the filter I was working on got eaten, while I was tweaking it!... have to go back to another stage of the filter (Which luckily I do have) and put in some of the bits I can remember.. ick!

Well burped as in got an error message about low recourses re-opened FF to a message saying such and such filter is corrupted can not open, kinda thing.

Annoying thing was only reason I was playing in the filter, I realised that the base texture had changed a bit too much that it no longer resembled the fantasy metal 100%. Texture was out by about 5-15% I think.. smile:(

It was a 1968 Camaro SS, 327 bored, Hurst 4-speed rockcrusher, etc.....body was mint.....fully restored the interior.....painted it candy-apple red, dual blue metallic racing stripes, aftermarket spoiler, etc.....installed a radical suspension system where I could adjust the rear end height by six inches.....and a Blaupunk (sp?) stereo system that would blow your mind!!! As you can tell.....I loved that car!!! smile:) smile:) smile:)

Okay, the car that I posted is the "Crystler Chronos".....not a production car, but they custom build them for about $150,000.00 .....I believe that there are only 5 in existance......
