well, i was going to get it today, foxxee, but those plans got changed.

and TW isnt open play? they're forcing you to varous zones to make you follow their storyline? hmmm, that's not real good. i thought game devs learned not to do linear stuff like that in rpg's. it's fine for some games. in fact, you have to, but rpg's folks tend to want a universe and get your hands off me you silly gamegod people! smile;) so, that does surprise me a bit.

did they ever make morrowwind multiplayer?

and i'd love to play with you, foxxee, though i think it would be a bit stale in a hurry as far as hack and slash. still, just wandering around that scenery is pretty cool. i'd love to see an editor for it. i could make my own areas. now that would be cool as hell. also, i never quite know how to be with someone else in those situations. do we chat, do we fight, do we just wander around with awkward pauses wondering if we shld be saying something or doing something? am i hogging all the loot? do her legs really look like that? boy, how can she wear a green tunic with a red hat? smile;) smile:dgrin: so, it's a bit odd at times. still, it can be fun. i used to play dragon's gate on Genie with some friends and that was easy to be around folks in. there was lots of roleplaying in that.

i may yet have to go out today and get TW. i'm getting anxious to see the rest of it and beef myself up some more. i'm lvl 10 now and almost out of critters to fight. i even had to kill a townie yesterday (in the game i was caught theiving and couldnt pay). i went back to the town and the entire town came after me! lol. that was pretty mad. so i lured a couple of them outside the gates and killed one of them. firewall and backstab was about the only way i could do it. they give them almost impossible hit points smile;)

anyways, as you can tell, i'm an old gamer. been playing computer games since 1972 or so when we used to play on mainframes smile:)

oh, i have a question; does WoW have real time voice communications as opposed to just text chat? maybe at least with just your own party?

ewww, and if it doesnt, might it be possible to do one of those third party real time voice chat things along with WoW? or, with TW, for that matter.

"teamspeak". that's one of the audio team chat programs. there are others, too.

ok, i went and got it, installed it and am now lvl 9 or 10 or something. i was a little disappointed that i couldnt use my previous demo character and saves. but, there is a lot more stuff now and that's cool. i've got pretty poor equipment yet. i was actually doing better in the demo, but i can see the potential, so not worried about it. i have got my firewall, though smile:)

installation was easy. it does not overwrite the demo. that's kind of good cause i can go into the demo and copy my alchemy forumlas down on paper and duplicate them in the full game.

i've been wandering around outside my zone of ability. i went to brumhill and fought glacier orcs. lol. i dont think i killed any of them. they work pretty well as a team. i could beat the cyclops in the demo because i could just stay away from him and pound him with magic, but the orcs are a team and the infantry attacks while the archers shoot. if i get hit by the orcs, it's almost an instant death for me. hehe, so, i had to give it up for lesser targets. good thing we dont lose anything for dying. i actually think that may be a bit too easy. also, there's way too many shrines (restores hps) and those other magic sources (restores mana) in the game. i fought skeletons and ghouls in a pack at a cemetary type area but it had both nodes real close and i could just keep getting healed and mana restored. so, that was kind of cheap. i did die even with that, though, so it wasnt totally lame smile:)

the game is kind of fun. the scenery is pretty cool. even the trees sway in the wind. and i like the jump command. that's gotten me out of trouble a couple of times. my favorite trick right now is getting animals to fight baddies. i go find some wolves and bears and lead them into a bandit camp then i run out and the animals attack the bandits smile:)

and i've got my horse smile:)

so, i had a fun late afternoon and evening smile:)

ok, foxxee, time to put or ... well, time to put up smile:) i havent been online yet with the game. just playing single player. but, what would i need to do to join a game with you? do i get to bring in my own, already developed character, or do we both start from scratch and i think i saw the box said up to 8 players at a time could play in one server, so, who makes the game and at what time and so on? also, i'm guessing you'd want this passworded, so we'd have to have that also.

let me know smile:)

hehehe, it's really good to see you again.

Oh and I need to let you and anyone else that was sending me emails to my Yahoo mail... I forgot my password and and log-in name, so I can't go and check things out there. Sorry about that. Even lost my huge collection of smiley icons too smile:cry:

After a major computer death and funeral I got a whole new setup with 24 inch flat-screen, gigs and gigs of space... well, lots of other nice things too. I think it was a sort of "we're sorry" gift for all I had gone through smile:)

Anyway, not to brag... I was hoping you took a peek at my Crochet filter? I thought of you when I came up with that... and Constantin and Sphinmorpher too... but mostly you because you started the whole 'lace' thing I remember smile:D

hehe, bel, well, i prolly wont be doing it here with TW. the saves are binary files and even though i have several hex editors, it's hardly worth the effort any more. besides, if i'm going to be playing online, i dont cheat in those. too easy to get caught and banned and it ruins things for others. i only cheat when it ruins things for me smile;)

so, foxxee, i got onto the servers yesterday. i patched to 1.6 and then patched again to 1.7. and apparently there's a new 1.8 patch coming out soon.

i've got a lvl 9 fire mage now online. i played in the main server, starting in the main town. i had one guy help me out in my first game. so i learned the ropes a bit there. it's not the same as single player. it's harder for newbies. making the first level was the hardest. he also gave me a couple items and showed me a few of the mechanics but he had to leave pretty quickly.

i also helped some guys out in town that were having troubles with hosting games. they could join but not host. one of the guys gave me two potions and some spells. the potions raised my hit points from about 3 or 4 hundred to over 3500! lol. so, who needs to cheat? the funny part is, i still die! rofl!

well, i played a while yesterday. i'm now lvl 9. i even fought dragons and stone golems. i say i fought, but it's more like i walked into death in a hurry smile:)

oh, and version 1.7 doesnt download on the automatic server update. you have to get it from their web site.

so, when ya comin in to join me?

Nah don't cheat on online games just um.. regular ones lol. I never used too till someone told me about hex editors and stuff.

That game looks interesting not sure about the lack of female characters though.

yes, the lack of females chars is a bit odd. but, that's only in the single player. online seems to allow it. in fact, from what i've noticed, TW online is actively being supported and updated. this is good. it's when developers move on to new games that the old ones die.

This is for Steve... Shiya flying off to other lands smile:)

More at http://s65.photobucket.com/albums/h234/phauxxee/

I feel the same way, Beliria, this company cut off it's profits by not giving us gals a toon to play with in Single Player... sort of an 'old school' mind-set I think. They need to loosen up. RPGs is not just a man's game and never has been as far as I was concerned smile;)

Craig, I thought you said earlier that it would get stale playing with me online... so I just went back to W.o.W. But, if you want to state a time I can come on in there too, just let me know when. I don't know how to make a game and let someone else play in it, so you will have to do the honors smile:)

oh boy, no, i hope what i said was that the game would get stale, not playing with you! i've been looking for you online every time i go in!

ok, i fought my first dragon tonight... and won! hehe, a sand dragon. see the picture smile:) i'm about lvl 15 or 16 now and getting a bit buff smile:)

i was trying to play a pure fire mage, but the game just makes it so enticing to be a warrior with magic rather a mage with fighting skills. and trust me, there's a big difference. the armor for fighters is just too good compared to what's available for a mage so, it's just too easy to be a fighter first, mage second. so, i gave in and got some good armor. and of course, that means you then have to raise your strength to be able to carry anything and raise your dex to fight...and on and on and on. being a pure mage is just really tough.

anyways, come on in, steve smile:)

foxxee,

when you enter multi, you've be in a town, tharbakin, i think. you cant enter or leave through a gate. you cant draw a weapon or anything. this is like the chat and set up area.

to start a game you hit f12. a window opens up and you pick your area to play there. if you want to allow others to join your game, just check the little box that refers to this. if you want to join someone else's game, those are listed to. just make all your choices and then hit f12 again. this will start your game or join you to one you've picked.

but, that's not the only requirements. you MUST be playing the same version as one you join and others must have the same version in order to join your game. also, if you host, you must tell your firewall to allow you to be a TW server. everyone that makes it through the network connections has at least the client approved on the firewall, but if you host, you must also allow your firewall to pass server transmissions to and from the game. in zone alarm, the game is listed under 'Two Worlds'. just scroll down to that listing and make sure the server side is enabled. for other firewalls, i dont know. check your docs for that.

and to enable actual voice communications with other players in the game, you'll have to pick the 'network' tab in 'settings' and run the audio test with a microphone plugged into your system. if the test comes out good, then you shld be good to go. oh, and i think there's a box you have to check, something like 'enable voice communications'.

as to times, i've got a 3 day weekend here, so any time is fine with me. what time zone are you in? i'm in central. so, i'll probably be in tomorrow sometime around 10 a.m. or noon or afternoon or sometime smile:) just pick one and we'll have a go (but dont tell steve; he hogs loot smile;) ).

Most of my frav games was the rpg style, like final fantasy etc, and um the odd bash at Resident Evil, Tomb Raider, plus the odd bash-um-up game for them days I really need to kick the living day lights out of someone with out actually physically doing so smile;)
