lol. i wasnt trying to run the filter down. didnt expect the 'Crap' response there. i thought saying it looked like a good rusty cargo container was a GOOD thing smile:)

Oh I should do those- the truss filter is a good foundation so I'll work off of that, but cargo containers have some extra features I'll have to toy around with.

I've also been toying with this filter- It's getting pretty nuts: The basic idea here was to keep the dark "grunge" in the nooks and crannies. I found a highpass->threshold trick that worked nicely. It's getting quite slow unfortunately, but it's worth the wait!

Any ideas for improvements? (I tried bolts/rivets, it's a no-go, I really did try, it just ain't gonna work smoothly)

I like the grunge in the nooks and crannies. Any chance for bolts/rivets that work smootly? smile:-p

I couldn't come up with anything that would work well. The big problem is trying to mask off where the bolts should and should not appear. This becomes a problem because I couldn't find a way to isolate a specific section without it bleeding into the corners or edges.

Just submitted the handle one smile:D

In other news: I ended up finishing a requested project as requested here: http://www.filterforge.com/forum/read...5&TID=6055

I won't be submitting that filter to the library but I wanted to share a shot of the final product!

Voila!

I just discovered a great trick-

If you want to isolate high or low parts of your image you can run it through a high pass then use a tone curve to pick high/low

I've never used tone curve before and I just got so excited now once I realized what it did!!!

Don't get too excited. It's basically just a blur and a threshold. I will admit it's fun to play with though.
