You know, I did google C# as soon as I read the question but I found the references to be so varied that I could not be sure what it was - then I got sidetracked, I think by Stephanie Leonidas (isn't she cute). Now I'm trying to find XDN, where are you getting these things from? Why do you suddenly need railway tracks? What are you up to? smile:?:

Hey Sam, I really like your Quicksilver filter. I came up with a variation you might find interesting. This is in no way meant to be an improvement or critique because I like your filter very much just the way it is. I was only hoping to enhance the what the filter already does. I think it creates beautiful textures, among the best in the library, and if you ever want to revisit it maybe you can keep these ideas in mind for the next release. Keep up the good work, I think you have a tremendous natural artistic ability. Because it is raining where I am I cannot post samples of the new variation so I changed the presets to examples I like. I could not help adding a ron mode (checkbox) in addition to the existing sam mode – I like them both very much.

Btw, set the distribution slider to zero to return it to your original. And the curve components off to the left were an experimental profile for the cells but it never panned out. I especially like presets 7, 8 and 10.

Cheers pal! Oh cool, I appreciate your interest in my work, makes me feel a bit more alive (long story...).
Thank you, I love putting my mind to something creative and I'm glad I've found something that keeps me occupied.
Just because the expiry runs out soon, dosn't mean I won't visit the forum.
I got big ideas from here-on, mostly creating 3D cgi's, websites and music videos. The way I see it is everything that I do all ties in together nicely and once I get the money I'll be sure to buy FF (unless I can extend the expiry).

So what's next for you?

I found out right away that my kind of artwork was not compatible with the bandwidth constraints of the internet, or even games. A single high quality still would take me days to send from my location using the web - and I would need to send millions. I want render farms and IMAX. smile:)

That's what I wrote at first but then a kitten started stepping all over the keyboard and somehow the all your filters deserve EP disappeared right before I hit send. Then when I tried to modify the post I kept getting 503 errors. Yeah that's it, that's just how it happened.smile:cry:
Further I now belatedly bestow the 'Ron's Choice' on your beautiful 'Atmosphere' effect filter. Admittedly not as coveted as the prestigious EP even more exclusive. smile:)

Welcome to FF and Carl's Corner Lady Fayre.
Btw, and it took me almost six months to figure this out myself, you can click the Quote button to make your life easier.
Per Carl's suggestion I also tried plugging it into Atmosphere Paradise. In my opinion it did not work that well. It seems to me that each filter is trying to do the same things but using very different approaches - almost too different. Maybe with some playing around.
We had been playing around with another combination recently that worked much better. It is in this thread. I will find the link and post it. brb

Hey Carl,
My backup was eventually a success. I decided to change the structure of my files to take better advantage of my specific hardware. Now I have an online read-mostly USB drive with things like tutorials, backup prefs, photos, music etc. All of my current projects have been moved to my primary internal SATA for speed. Believe it or not all my projects, applications and the XP OS require less than 14GB. You probably will not believe that so I will attach an image. That includes Illustrator, Context, Photoshop, Filter Forge, Maya, Word and Excel etc. Here they are.

File Box Extender
Virtual Desktop
Faststone
Firefox
Picasa
Plastic Animation Paper
HT Fireman DVD burner
Colorpix
Tweak UI
Wimpy flv player
Windows Media Player
Quicktime
Backup tools

So now I can backup my system in thirty minutes cut over to backup, in the case of failed or corrupt HD, in 3 minutes. Three m8nutes! smile:D

Maya update: smile:)
Ik joint chains with small rotations are the bane novice riggers. Both of the arms in the rig I am working on had rotations. So I decided I had had enough of this crap and was going to fix them. For me, with my level of matrix algebra (none), it meant replacing them with new chains. A pretty big operation for me because they each had custom attributes and were connected to several nodes required for squash and stretch as well as ik/fk switching. Anyway, I did it! I even shape parented a nurbs controller that I modeled myself – complete with a sharp turn. smile8) I now have clean transform values that my animator (me) will love. smile:D

Have you looked at Virtual Dimension?
http://virt-dimension.sourceforge.net/
It's freeware that allows you to have any number of desktops.
At the moment I have six; email, Maya, News, Research, Filter Forge, Maya II, Maya III and Photoshop (see attached). It has made my life much easier. Notice at number 4 the desktop selector; it shows what is open in each window and allows me to drag and drop applications between windows or span all windows with a single application – pretty cool. Also have you looked at file box extender? More freeware.
http://www.hyperionics.com/files/index.asp
It is has changed my life more than any utility. It allows me to dramatically increase the amount of screen real estate I have available. Look at the attached image and notice the little black triangles. each of those roll windows up like blinds. The push-pin beside them allow the window to be pinned in front.

1. Attribute editor folded up.
2. Script editor folded up.
3. Text editor folded up
4. Virtual Dimension desktop selector
a. email desktop
b. Maya desktop
c. Photoshop desktop

5. Maya main editor folded down
6. Quicktime player folded down but in back
7.

With Maya I usually have between ten to twenty windows open at any give time, spanning both monitors. Before I got FBX I this was not possible and I was constantly having to open and close and drag and otherwise reposition windows.
