In sl, if you stand in front of a mirror, do you see you standing in front of a mirror or do you see yourself in the mirror?

nope and nope, unless someone has figured out how to reflect people. I think there is a way to do it probably with shine and scripts or something.

if I say both will you hit me? smile;) smile:D

okay is normally third but I think you can set it to how you like. But like if I am building I can turn the camera so it becomes first so I can zoom into what I am doing but without seeing my avi's hands (or um the gun in that picture).

Its more of how you have the camera setting set up in SL or what you are doing.

When am in next will do some screenshots for you might help but then again might not smile;)

That makes it easier to understand why so many women are really men. When I play a third person game I always choose female and when I play first person I always choose male. In SL though, I think it would be different because of the possibility for confusion. I would not want to accidentally give someone a false impression. I would try to make my avatar a projection of me - which would include gender. It is interesting to think about.

aah.. so what your saying Ron is guy's don't like seeing male avatars?

Ooookay me too in pc games cause I am sick of being force fed male characters in them when I am female. Much rather play a female role in them... and I don't mean washing dishes etc smile:eek:

I don't imagine myself playing a female role, I imagine I am controlling a female character. I do not mean controlling in a domination way but rather like picking the paint on a car. If it is third person, I do not think of it as me.

smile:D okay.

Been busy in SL and FF, made a new filter not sure if I will upload it yet or not or see what else I can do with it first.

Is a base texture manipulation filter that makes the texture under it look like slightly to really creased satin fabric. Looks cool over images specially ones that are seamless or cantered ones.

Was surprised it does the metal effect, and them images only took about 2-3 seconds to render at 512 size.

Is just a simple filter didn't use the surface height and stuff.

Some of the best ones don't. Maybe if you are great with surface maps, but I am not, so many times I prefer the look of just the bits.

ditto to that, but I found when I tried it with the surface bits the metallic effect and such was getting too much and the lighting with random settings messed the filter look up too much for what I wanted. So I went back the basic filter without them functions.

When I'm doing the surface maps, I mostly try things at random until something looks good. I have gotten better at some tricks and knowing what doesn't work, but I still cannot put it all together.

Me too think I will work on this filter a bit more and clean it up a little before sending it in smile:) is still in the experimental stage at the moment. But I think I might work more on effect type filters rather than full blown texture filters.

I submitted one a few days ago but it has not posted yet. I even have a replacement for it but I cannot submit it until the other one clears the queue. I guess they are busy with the mac stuff. It's a little annoying but understand. smile:|

I need some help!! smile:D

If you was going to get one of these which would it be?

Nikon D80 DSLR - 18-135 Lens 10MP Digital Camera

or

Canon EOS 450D 12MP Digital SLR Camera with Twin Lens
Lens included with camera - EF-s 55-250 and EF-s18-55 IS

Taking into account that the Nikon is £100 cheaper.

This site has the canoneos450d listed for quite a bit less than the nikond80. I was reading through the specs and the only thing that stood out to me, was that the Canon has spot metering and live lcd preview - otherwise they are very similar.

I checked B&H and they have the Canon and the Nikon each listed for about half as much.

Personally I am happy with my Canon and if I replaced it today it would be with another Canon. smile:)
It's going to be lots of fun to get a new camera.

smile:) Cool thanks Ron, just I had been looking at the Nikon D60 for sometime and well was thinking why get that one if the others are almost the same price. So started looking at the Canon Eos this morning V's the Nikon D80, think I read far to much stuff that my head got over loaded with info so kept thinking Canon Eos... no go for the Nikon one.. noooo look at the other's info again etc etc.. mind I like that the Canon one uses SD and SDHC cards more of a choice, plus that Nikon one says max card size 4gb SD. And um I can get a 4gb SDHC for half price at the moment that or the 8gb one that's at half price too.

Only thing I'm not sure about is the canon camera bag lol read up's for that are low

bel,

check here for any camera answers: http://www.dpreview.com/

i always go there first, look at camera specs and reviews and then start shopping around for prices. also make sure you check nikon's and canon's own sites for additional info. and, if possible, go to a camera store and handle both items you're looking at buying. there's nothing like hands-on for making that final decision smile:)

It is a long time after everyone else learned how to do it, but it does open the door for me to do a lot of cool new texture.
