Just received an email from Fileplanet.. been a member of that for years.

Anyhow it seems that Unreal have a 1Million dollar competition going on to mod creatures etc. Think the prizes are broken down though..

Here's the link if you want to read more.

I thought so too at first.....but it turns out that they are "supposedly" giving away 1 million in total software prizes.....with the Grand Prize being a non-commercial, Unreal Engine 3 educational development license.....and after three years, they will upgrade it to a commercial license..... smile:|

Yep my patches normally consist of me trying out an RPG/MMORPG etc then realise I have spent a month playing an online game that I probably wont be playing the following month.. smile:(, not cause of the monthly fees, just that it didn't have the keep playing factor for me.

I love MMORPG's part from I always seem to pick the ones with player killers, and I so hate player killers. I'm one of them people that get attached to my character, so having some person randomly killing them, irks me. Specially when its a high level player and your low level and theres no contest, you cant even fight back, well you can but it's pointless, you scratch them they kill you. I know its not like your character dies but with a lot of them games you loose exp, or something and it takes ages to get that back, then I loose heart in the game.

Think thats why I like Second life.. although I do sometimes download or have a bash at an rpg/mmorpg on and off even since I joined second life. But so far no games have I felt like staying, mainly cause they have far to much pvp for my liking. I'm more of a PvE player, unless the PvP has a purpose and there are rules and guidelines. Basically higher levels cant kill lower and via versa, more of an equal footing.

Mind not played Unreal either, some of the prices of these games put me off, specially if you wait a little longer sometimes a matter of 2 months and they are in the cheap bin's or on sale..

hehe I can be a skinflint at times, hate buying a brand new game then 2 months later you see it for 1/3 of the price or you could get 3 games with that one included for the price you paid then..

It must make them feel powerful when they are probly powerless in real life, it would certainly take the fun out of it, like games that are too hard and you die every few minutes smile;)

Wow.. and I thought £30 to £70 bad.. mind I think £70 might be higher than $100 Aus.. but then £70 is for them newer machines, and don't get that many priced that high, think they realised people wont buy or its a very limited market at that price.

Probably either kid's or bully boy's/girls/men/women. I have asked a few why, and normally if they reply it is to laugh at you, or to say because they can, or stuff along that lines. Which puts me off the game, mind am glad you can try some games before buying them. So am happy if that happens in the early days before I fork out money. Well not happy as such.. disappointed, but not out of pocket.

Very. Mind sometimes when I joke/mess around I have to think cause to someone else it could be classed as bullying or picking on them. If I do that I don't mean it to come out that way but with the different sayings/languages etc around the world it's easy to miss-interpret a saying or comment.

I know I have miss read things myself and taken them out of context, but then in a game someone slaying you in one hit and running of laughing is out right player killing/bullying to me smile;)
