MyFamily website

ok, i was just sent an invitation to a walters family site from one of my sisters in law. the host site (note the walters family site) is here: http://www.myfamily.com/Welcome/Default.aspx . i posted a pic and left some messages and ok, nice idea.

but, it occurred to me that this sort of thing, a closed site by invitation only, might well be a good thing for some of the authors here or even authors and FF team or FF team, for that matter. it's using SSL (secure settings) for moving about on the site and keeping unwanteds out. it has a host of features, including pic posting, video posting, file posting and so on. it's also free at the basic level. that level gets you a 100 meg transfer rate per month, but you can increase it if you wish to upgrade for a fee.

so, it's a web site, secure, by invitation, for sharing messages, photos, videos, files and so on. and, if you're not interested in using it for FF type stuff, try it out with your family if i were to decide to collaborate on a filter with someone, like steviej and my cloud type filters, this would make an ideal place to do it. no email hassles, leave messages, leave files and so on.

well, it's steve's pressure that more or less prompted me to have the idea along with my own idea i posted a while back about FF doing a private forum area similar to the myfamily thing. if authors were going to collarborate, the myfamily site would make perfect sense.
