PaperVision3D launched it's version 2 alpha last week. Today I finally had a chance to play around with it.
I made a little thing for you people to check your bump maps with (well those of you who don't have a good 3d renderer that is). You can check it out and download it here. I took the liberty of including some of the better looking bump mapped filters. Since v2 of PaperVision3D is still in alpha I'll probably update the page in the near future. It might also be nice to also have a cube and a cylinder. And I hope I can find a way to also get those reflection maps in there. |

Very cool. I have a 3D program, but for those that don't, this is a great tool. Nice work.

wow! that 3d animated page is pretty amazing. would love to have that as my screensaver
 If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

That should be possible... a quick search got me this (haven't tried it though) [edit]no wait... that sucks... lets see[/edit]
And you can also feed variables directly into the flash file like so: http://www.sjeiti.com/ffpv3d/planet.s...e_bump.jpg So if you have a local server or some webspace somewhere you can easily have your own filters as a screensaver |

that last link didnt work, sjeiti, but i think i get the idea. use the web saver thing and link it to the flash of the fish. cool

It works in my Firefox... IE has issues... next update I'll include a fullscreen page that works the same.

 moved?!... didn't think PaperVision3D thing for realtime checking FF bump maps would be considered 'off-topic'.
Anyway... just updated the page and the download. There's now also a 'fullscreen' link (bottom left) so Kraelin can have a go at his 'web saver thing'. Note that the only model that really works well is the sphere (hope pv3d updates it's alpha someday soon). |

well, i'd never use a web link for a screensaver, but if i could download that seascape with the fish and use that, that would be cool
