Hello,
I have just found this software called Touchdesigner 3D
Looking at the features it looks good and cool, but I do not understand really how it works So I wanted to know if anyone here may have any experience or have tried this software already It also seems to have generative design ![]() but do not know if you need to know coding, scripting and programming to be able to use it, in the same way as the www.processing.org and I think it could be maybe this way as it is put that is based on Phyton Scripting Language ![]() ![]() I do not have any experience in scripting so I would like to know if this is needed to be able to use this software Thanks |

Yes, I use it for live performance.
It's very simple to use if you follow the basic tutorials. However for more advanced things, you'll need programming experience. That's ... really about it. |

Thanks for your answer, will see how it works if you say is easy to use, at least in the basic part
You tell that you use it for live perfomance, and this is the impression I have that it really from the description and example, is more for making show and live presentations than a real design software 2D for making artworks |

Well the program's capability extends to producing stills as well, so you can write out 2D stills if you want to, just like you could with AfterEffects. So the intention of the program maybe for performance, but it's usage is for anything you want it to be. It's a programmable environment in that sense as well. If you want you can make yourself a little painting program and make a trigger-able write-node that exports high res jpegs or something so you can have your audience paint, press a button, and print results out on the spot. It's very powerful and flexible in that sense. It also shares the same node-structure philosophy as Houdini, so a lot of what you know in Houdini is translatable in TouchDesigner to some degree. But again, this is technically a performance program with a lot of customization capabilities. |
