So, after eliminating meta data corruption as a possible cause, I am left scratching my head about this error:
![]() or the above image plus another image (http://www.xirja.com/TTHIV.jpg) on a test page: http://www.xirja.com/ImageTest.html Here in Safari 4.1.3 the page displays both images ok. But every other browser I have checked doesn't. So then I checked a browser compatibility test site to further investigate: Again the only browser that displays the images is Safari in Yosemite. ![]() ![]() _____________________________________________________

Disclaimer: I'm not a developer nor a digital artist. Please consider the following just a chit-chat
![]() Your JPG files don't look like normal JPEG. All other JPGs on my computer start with the 0xFF 0xD8 0xFF byte sequence (see JPEG syntax on Wikipedia), while your files start with 0x38 0x42 0x50. I'm not surprised most browsers don't display non-standard files; you probably need to re-save them closer to the standard. |

Thank you for noting that GMM. From metapicz.com/ I noticed that the 'Format' was: 'application/vnd.adobe.photoshop', a psd file, despite having other image/jpeg attributes.
Wouldn't you know it, I forgot to flatten the layers before saving as a jpg. Another clue was the size being about double what it should have been. Oh goodness, I was thinking there must some extreme systemic jpg virus on my machine or something. Phew! ![]() _____________________________________________________
