Color can be applied via HTML tags to fonts, borders and backgrounds and are defined by their Hexadecimal value or they standard name, and there is many times problems to define a specific color

So here I found this

X11 Color Palette
These are the colors defined by web browsers. A particular browser may not recognize all of these colors, but as of 2005 all modern general-use browsers support the full list. Again, you can use the color names instead of the hexadecimal value.

The two colors indigo and purple are both hues with a long history of cultural usage, and scientific debate. Both terms are used to describe specific colors and a range of shades.

HERE IS A COLOR CHART WITH HEX VALUES AND THE POSSIBLE NAMES

Here is cut out of the whole list found here

As Indigo Ray said, "And no they're not too similar" and looking at the examples above, is they are NOT too similar and clearly different.

If you use Google to make a search of Indigo VS purple you can see that there many that are confused with this smile:D
