My bad if I didn't post this in the right place. But anywho...
I will be working on making filters that could generally be done with a good camera, but for someone that would still want some more control over the process. Right now, I only have two things in mind, one that I've already finished, and another that would require some serious thought. First of the bunch, is "Advanced Vignette" http://www.filterforge.com/filters/7305.html I didn't really find any real vignette filters around here, so I wanted to see if I could come up with something useful for it. The "Advanced" part of it is just that there's a handful of controls and settings to tweak. If you guys remember my filters previously, you would know that I like making THE most simplistic tools. So the "Simple" version would be released a little bit later, as it requires a lot more thought at how to compact a lot of features into one or two sliders. Anyways, I will be updating this with a lot more thing that I have in mind, like vignette color and such. Right now it has saturation controls for the vignette, wich saturates or desaturates the specific area of the vignette. Later I would also add my "Detail Multiplier" as a built-in kind of thing, and others that would make it like a one-stop-shop thing. The next filter I have in mind is Bokeh, and the DOF behind it. It won't be out for some time, since I actually have to study up on it and see how far I can push FF. If you could tell me what you think of "Advanced Vignette"! Comments and Critiques are greatly appreciated. |

In the next version of the filter I'm going to add the color vignette as well as other features I have in mind.

I just updated the Advanced Vignette it should be up in a few minutes. You can now change the color of the Vignette, and the Hue of the Saturation.
Kraellin, after looking through the innards of the filter, I have no clue where to start to actually make the vignette completely white. It seems like it's not really using the white values as a color, rather like an alpha. At this point, how would you make the Vignette act as a color overall, instead of being affected by the white alpha? Edit: Just finished the Simple Vignette filter, and will probably be up in a few minutes. The "About" for the filter is the same as Advanced, I kinda forgot to change it, but will do so once it's submitted to the Filters area. |

well, i didnt mean to have it a solid white. just tinting it white like you did with the black is all i was looking for. if nothing else, if you have the black isolated somewhere, you could just use an invert to turn it white, put the two on a switch with a checkbox control and you're good

hi aa13x, (have you got a first name i could use instead of aa13x?)
i looked at both filters you sent. they look fine. the color you have in there already is all i was looking for. however, since we mentioned having a more solid and adjustable color, i re-worked things to accomodate and sent you back the revised filter. feel free to use whatever of that you wish. Sweet, the filters are up now.
@Kraellin, thanks for the tweaks. I'll try to refine the filter for the next update, so it has everything for full customization and control. Btw, for the Simple Vignette, can you guys tell me if it's good or not, as far as simplicity, compared to the advanced version? http://www.filterforge.com/filters/7337.html One thing that I really want from FF is the ability to adjust more settings with one control. Like for the simple vignette, I have the margin, corner, and width controls, but is there an easy was to combine those into one slider? Or is there a way to make something like a gradient value slider with multiple inputs? |

aa13x,
you're welcome. simple vignette looked fine before. you can plug one control into many nodes. the only limit is that they cant be recursive and must correspond to the correct color codes. but yes, you can use one control for all those things.
