I'm wondering why no one has done any of these yet.....they are starting to get popular at other sites.....and FF is perfect for creating them.....

LOL..... I'm not tellin'.....but there are some details that give the source away.....care to take a stab at what they are???
Craig, yeah, I really like the first one I was thinking that these could also be taken further with some of the planet filters as well.....like putting them in nebulas in place of clouds, etc......and ones with just stars and novas.....like in the hubble telescope pics.....which I love to look at..... .....

Well, these are becoming big sellers at various sites.....so you could get some serious "quatloos" (Star Trek ) for them.....

It looks like you've basically got it to me.....I would only suggest adding the light flares off of the big ones.....and maybe take some of each size out in exchange for more black space.....but all 'n all, looks great!!!
PS..... Have you tried "Google Earth" yet??? If you haven't, you can look at alot of the Hubble pics of galaxies by turning it out into space.....kinda neat!!! Steve

In refenrence to your challenge, the original sunset is a photo, no FF; How do I know you ask. 1, it isn't a square and most images posted by forum members from FF are squares. 2, it has wheat at the bottom of it, to realistic looking wheat.

Go 'fake widescreen' and just have black bars across the top and bottom ha-ha.

Ding!!! Ding!!! Ding!!! We have a winner!!! Tell him what he's won, Johny!!!
Good eye, Red!!! I was wondering if anyone would catch that.....because at first glance, it looks like noise.....
Moral of the story.....trying to put out some new ideas.....and this can definitely be done in FF.....without the wheat that is......

it was the light flares i was having trouble with, steve.
and no, havent been on google earth in quite a while. sounds cool. but, i do go onto the nasa site fairly often to ogle the gorgeous space pics. i've even got that 90 meg one done by hubble of the farthest reaches of space ever filmed. absolutely amazing stuff. and of course, the nebulae are incredible!
but, getting back to earth... the clouds pics are simply more versions of the original storm clouds filters and the nebula ones do somewhat borrow from the storm clouds, but not entirely. i had to come up with a decent star generator that would do various sizes, but the nebula 'clouds' are taken somewhat from the storm clouds.
and as for the sunsets or the making of sunsets, i think i see a way to do a filter like that that would be more realistic and more defined. keep reminding me; i'm working on a couple different things right now, one of which is how to make video tutorials. so nag me once in a while If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

Isn't there a filter in the library that does them.....that you could adapt to what you have??? I could be mistaken.....but I thought I saw one....

Yeah, amazing how it looked into the darkest areas and just saw more gallaxies......which begs the question: is there an end to the universe???

I think the more photo-realistic the better.....but there are still alot of uses for surreal sunsets as well.....
