Thought I would pull this one out also and finish it. The first preset I had looking good when a meteor crashed into the landscape and created a hole. You can still see the parts of the space rock... smile:D

Looks pretty good. smile:) I'd almost like to see it 10% lumpier, or wih a few more craters/ridges, but not too many ya know. Does it render pretty quick or is it a slow one ?

reminds me of a debris cloud in space. and i agree with jffe on the lumpier part. some rough solids in there would make the debris look good. then again, if it's not meant to be a debris cloud, i'm all wet smile:)
If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

I see it as a sattelite pic of undulating surface - a dit lumpier would make it more interesting smile:)

Yep its a sat. view.
The lumpy parts I will have to mess with. I have been going on google maps and looking at some sat. angles trying to get some more ideas for it..I'll need to play with it some more and see what comes up.... smile:)

Right now its actually pretty quick on the render. Not like rocky formations.. smile:D

hehe, well, one sees what one sees smile:)

CF, have you ever looked on some of the satellite image web sites? those could be a great source for filters. i used to use some of those for importing into game software as ground terrain.
If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!
