I've been working on several methods to create realistic glass with a simple filter result.....
I was wondering how this version looks to you??? Steve

very nice, steve.
just one thing here; you've got an edge overflow thing going on there. if you can clean that up, i'd say near perfect. If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

I was thinking about that in another version.....because I wanted to keep this one looking like it is one glass panel. I see what you are saying.....maybe put in threshold and alpha for the separation. Good idea!!! Steve

Filters like this, and others like it, make me think/wish, that we could add modules after the surfaceshine/3-D lighting effect was applied. I can't help but think that would open new doors, and make some things easier, and some new things possible.

Exactly!!! Somthing like that, clean up existing lighting or new lighting without the reflective images, or point source lighting is at the very top of my FF wishlist!!! I've gone back to working only with simple filters.....to avoid the side effects that come from the lighting reflection images.....like windows, doorways, trees, fences, and even people are in some of them.....which turn into dark bands or dirty areas depending on height.....

This is a better example of how I have been trying to use the overflow to create the glass "panel" and refractive depth in this particular filter..... Steve

Hey Zeph, thanks, glad that you like it
Yeah, it was time for a change with the old avi.....which just had sentimental value as one of my first ancient digital works Steve

Hi Steve~
Oh I just saw the recent post on the progress of this filter-------------> Amazing Work!!

your decade of illustration is showing |
 Oh thanks!~
Always more to learn~ Everyone in this forum is very talented so I just try to hold my own, LOL. You all are amazing! I'm very proud to be a part of this team of filter artists on FF. My art tends to lean more toward 'art supplies' and backgrounds for web page use and scrapbooking... which can be very tough when done right... (lots of sweat and heart into them)... I also enjoy watching Filter Artists that put sweat and heart into filters that stretch the limits and capabilities of FF. And of course Steve---------> you are the King of Metal and Glass!!!! Every time I make a metal filter now I hold my breath it will pass your inspection, LOL.
Filter Forge is a great filter-------> Vlad is a genius~
Another thing I love about viewing the art of Filter artists or Graphics artists is that 'art' is an expression unique to the artist and I like seeing what they've created. Art is good for the soul!~
