I think the best, most effective of all is the "rings" one (the first one you posted.) Pretty cool experiments.
Personally, the effect comes out best when elongated shapes are used rather than shapes which are close to a 1:1 ratio (like a square.) The beauty of the filter ultimately comes from the rotation of each particle which flows across the canvas space and not really the particle itself presenting that one part of the picture. So basically particles which represent directionality would best represent the filter's capabilities. Try arrows ![]() |

I agree with you and I also think that the best is without doubt the first one, and that is why I have put it the first ![]()
YES, is true that is much better to use enlongated shapes that gives better results than short and more square like shapes ratios, I have tried around 10 of this kind of shapes and the only good ones are the ones above.
YES, true, you are right it must be done a particle that can be rotated and that can flow around the cnavas and the image shape and edges. |

I have just found this thread searching for another thing, and I forgot that I had made this thread and I like it, and it was a good idea, and I think I will come back to it
I do not know if there can be any change now with FF 5 that could bring something different to this With bomber+ |

As it turns out, I am making a simplified version of Brush Engine Van Gogh with the Bomber+ component. The major improvement is the ability to separately control hue, saturation, and brightness variation for the brush strokes. For the moment it can not be released due to issues between bomber+, particle adapter and non-square images. You can view samples of Simple Van Gogh at Chaos Fields.

Nice and well done examples, like how the different shapes are arranged and distributed. Interesting variations and ideas for replacing the original shape.
The ones I like most is the first with the rings and the last one with the tooth sticks |

Sorry, Space Ray, thanks for your comments, but no Bomber+ in the filter. FF did fix the submit bug
