ah good! yes, i'm the same way on those. one and two are ok, but the rest stand out. part of that comes from i turned the reflection and metallic up on those last four. it added some artifacts that i didnt want here and there, but overall made this shine nicely.

ya know, if i were into ceramic tile art, i'd be creating my designs with FF smile:)

I'm over here.... smile:D

I miss all you guys too.....I'll be back.....I have to keep riding Vlad about doing something like royalty-based author storefronts.....to increase participation/involvement here, create new incentive/reward levels, and generate revenue for reinvestment into enhancing the program at a much better rate....bla bla bla.....Vlad, just frick'n do it!!! LOL.... smile:loveff: I personally think that it would do a heck of alot more for this than V2.....not that I don't want V2 of course..... Do you think Vlad heard me this time??? smile;) smile:D

Carl, good points a few pages back.....especially on gallery rating.....will just turn people off from submitting works.....

Craig, #3, #4, and #5 are excellent!!! I would humbly suggest pursuing glass with those..... smile8)

Hey StevieJ...
I've been wondering where you went.
Did you settle on a new system?

I'm with you on the texture storefront idea.
I've been trying to find a good place to sell my textures.
There are so many filters in my 'stash' that need to get some use.
Maybe we should put our heads together and get a site up smile:devil: .

Hey back.... Sorry that I just disappeared from our conversation like that.....abruptly sidetracked with troubles on the homefront.....

I ended up doing an interum buy for $1200 on a 17" Asus graphics/gaming laptop.....dual core, 6 gig RAM, Nvidia GForce Cuda graphics w/ 1 gig, etc. It's actually a pretty nice/fast machine for the money. I thought that I would hold off on the big $$$ machine until things settle down with the new Intel technology, solid state drives, and crossfire graphics....it should come down quite a bit over the next year or so......

If it were possible to get everyone together from here, you could start the largest texture pack shopping mall on the internet.....which is basically what I've been trying to get Vlad to do by creating the means by which authors could sell them through here.....while FF takes a royalty cut on each sale for providing the means....which, in turn, would help propell, promote, and provide the $$$ to enhance this program at the same time...... smile:devil:

Sounds good.
I was wondering what you'd settle on.
Curious why you wanted a laptop, but congrats nonetheless.
You probably could have built a decent Core2 Quad desktop for $1200.
Oh well, to each his own... hope you have fun with your cool new toy!

Prices will come down, but then something cooler will come out.
Thank Intel and their 'tick tock' crap... and the crazy Ati vs. Nvidia war...
Us poor consumers hardly get to enjoy our stuff before we have to buy new stuff.
I'm happy I went the i7 route though, as I'll be able to get a 6 core chip soon... and 8 core will follow soon after... smile:evil:

It would be great to see that happen here, but if it doesn't... smile:beer:

I'm "hopefully" going to be moving to Hawaii soon.....selling most of my personal belongings because I don't want to have to ship too much.....so the portability of a laptop works a little better for me with the move.....instead of having to ship desktop components all the way over there.....

FB is FaceBook. i signed up there recently because a lot of my family is on there now and we have a family page, also. but, i started a small photo art gallery open to everyone. i tried to make that gallery viewable to anyone, but apparently you have to be logged into facebook to see it smile:(

and thanks, carl smile:)

Very nice stuff you're doing, by the way.
I'm about to start my own little thread as I haven't really been showing anything in quite a while.
Most of my stuff is unreleased and will remain so until I get some things sorted out (or the FF team decides to listen to StevieJ and create a texture storefront).
I like the idea of a thread like this though to at least get some feedback on the work I'm doing, and maybe inspire/push me to make some more filters for upload.

Ok, well that makes sense.
I'll do a little "hoping" for you too as Hawaii would be nice.

Unfortunately, not right now.
I'm definately looking into this as a serious project though... have been for a while actually.
I probably have enough textures and filters to start a decent sized store on my own, but if some of the other artists here were interested it could be huge.

Glad to see you still here Stevie....Ahh Hawaii..I can see it now..Are you gonna be that guy on the beach sitting in a lawn chair recliner (the kind with an umbrella) sipping a drink and working away on the laptop creating some more FF filters and textures to post on that FF storefront... smile;) smile:)

ya know, i dont even remember. let me look it up...

yes, it does color, but on the color i reduce the opacity, giving a semi-transparent look. of course, when you save that, a filler background gets put in on .jpg's, so, it's a bit different.

It looks like too much noise distortion to me; if you can take out the feel of seeing components in there, that would be good.
