i like it, too smile:) and yes, some interesting things come to mind from this. i've simplified the entire filter and made it display a smoother result. i didnt like the noise so much on the original.

wow. those are nice. that wasnt what i was really going for, though. i'm more trying to do the obscured vision sort of thing, fog, smoke, kind of eerie, but yet still visible. it's a bit trickier than one might think. you can always just lay a perlin over everything, but it's not the same. it looks like a perlin laid over everything. mine is actually blending into the imported image. but, it's a bit fussy doing it that way... the noise factor rears up and smacks ya one smile:)

i'll have to re-look at your sketch filter. if i could do those like lamar, boy, that would be slick as hell!

As your "pro bono" manager smile:D it's my duty to "hone" and "consolidate" the best of your filter work towards the direction that will yeild the most profitable results.....and then I can start getting my 20% commission manager's fee..... smile;) smile:D LOL.....

Take a good look especially at sample #1 (woman portraiture).....looks quite similar to effects that you've already created, eh??? smile:devil:

Now add your "highpass" effects with the canvas and painting work that you've just done.....and viola!!! You've got quite a useful filter series that is really limitless for where you can go with it..... smile:devil:

yes, i can see a similarity, but again, it's not really what i was trying to do. i can easily see trying to adapt this filter, though, but somewhere down the road. and i'm not quite sure what the 'highpass effects' are you're talking about nor the canvas work. did i do some canvas work? painting, yes and that's an interesting idea, too.

now, 'manager', what have you been doing lately, besides bugging vlad? i havent seen of your pieces for a while now.

It's my job to bug Vlad.....it's a dirty job.....but somebody has to do it..... smile;) smile:D

I haven't submitted a filter in well over a year and a half anyhow.....already have more reward points than I'll ever need (and still getting more of them).....but I have stayed on participating in the forum with my humble opinions smile:D and critiques because I need this program to be successful and enhanced....and I like alot of the people (like you) who are still here..... smile:)

I don't have any incentive to contribute filter works anymore (like many others).....but I would if Vlad gave me some further incentives.... *cough* Author Storefronts *cough* 8bf Simple-Result Plugin Creator *cough* Host Program Rewards *cough* ....I seem to be coming down with a cold or something lately..... smile;) smile:D

i'm guessing that vlad might think you're coming down with the swine flu smile;) smile:D

well, you can always send me something or start your own filter site or fly to russia and prod vlad in person or... publish something smile:) and besides, you can do like i've been doing, which i'd love to see, just post pictures of results of filters on images. that's always cool. we always had fun exchanging ideas through results.

ok, i had this brilliant idea and scrapped the entire re-write of ghost rider. i built a new one, MUCH simpler and pretty good. it's a fog/steam/mist/vignette type using a frame. i dont like the transition the frame component does from outer to inner to contents, but, it's not too bad. it does leave a bit of a discernable ring in the transition i'd like to get rid of. but, oh well.

i call this my pea soup frame smile:)

hi carl,

oh, i've always been a romantic smile:)

i like the shapes idea, but would be hard to do as it is. it uses a frame component. now, i could probably re-work it without the frame, but i like the frame for some parts of it, so not sure. but, i could get rid of it for the reason of the hard circle line showing so badly. i'd like more of a smooth gradient there where it transitions between the outer frame and inner. i did another portrait pic with this filter and i found if i treated the image before running it through the filter, i could minimize that line, but that's just not very elegant. at any rate, we'll see. i'm not done playing with this one yet.

ok, i adapted uber's shape filter to mine. the problem is, now i cant do any gradient fade of the frame unless i remove and rewrite the frame portion smile:( doesnt mean it cant be done, but ... bah! nonetheless, there might be a use for it the way it is.

i fall about half way between you and steve, CF. i withhold myself from submitting but then relent once in a while and do so, anyways smile:)

frosted would be cool. i'll think on that one.

i like the shapes, too, but i'm going to have to re-work it to get my gradient fade of the frame edge. there shld be a way.

ok, time for a little showing off of junk i've been working on. with the exception of the first two i'm posting, the rest all derived from the same filter. mods gave some quite different results with very little alteration. these are all pattern filters. i just like patterns. the first two are inspired from ronvier's weave filters. i had an old unfinished filter i passed by and realized it looked somewhat similar to ron's, so thought i'd do some work on it. it's not really a weave. it's more of a faux weave or just a pattern that sort of resembles a weave.

now these mods were an attempt to put a pattern within a pattern... sort of etch one onto another. they arent quite right yet. it's tough getting one completely disparte filter to line up to and make sense with another smile;)

every once in a while i return to an old filter. i've done this several times with the waterfall filters. i must have 50 versions now. lol. anyways, here is one where i took just the falls, no pool or anything else, and melded it with one of my rock filters.

painting effects? how about commenting on the last sets of images posted? actually, you and carl are about all who do comment. i guess i shldnt rock that boat, ay? smile;)

i do have one sketch thing i put together recently, but it's not real good yet. and i certainly havent forgotten that set of sketches you posted in here. those were good and i'd love to be able to duplicate that with a filter. i kinda doubt i can, but i makes a nice challenge smile:)
