sounds cool. zazzle, that's the place beliria uses, isnt it? have you ever tried cafe press? ( http://www.cafepress.com/ ). as far as i know, these guys are one of the first with that whole idea. i'm a member there, but havent done anything in years. i did make a coffee mug with one of my pics imprinted on it and ordered one for myself. it's pretty cool. even if no one else ever buys any of your stuff, you can order it yourself and have items with your images on them, t-shirt, mugs, carry bags and all that sort of thing. i keep thinking i'll get back to cafe press one of these days and havent yet. but, one of these days, perhaps smile:)

CF, i hadnt realized cafe press didnt use pay pal. i've only used it that one time. i must have just done a credit card debit. i dont really recall.

there must be other places that do this sort of this. surely zazzle and cafe press arent the only stores 'in town'.

yeah, the storm clouds filter is one of my favorites. i added a zoom and shrink snippet to the lightning part so i could recede it into the background. i think it was uber's snippets.

thanks, steve smile:) most of the credit goes to revoye. i just modded things a bit.

and you really need to get your priorities straight. i mean, who the hell is going to bug me about submitting filters if you dont come around? smile:D

kochubey, forgive me for using this and if you dont want it here, please, just delete it, but i do hope it will be ok.

this is from a new filter i've been playing with called 'banged up'. it's sort of a grunge filter, but maybe with a bit of a twist to it. at any rate, i applied it to kochubey's venice house pic and it came out fairly well. i did have to overlay the result with the original in psp and delete the parts that wouldnt be appropriate with the effect.

this is from yet another mod of CF&M's "Curious Paint". this is from version 1d1b smile:) hopefully, when i post this, it will be large enough and of enough resolution, to see the brushstrokes. it's actually more like what a painter does sometimes near the end of a piece, where they'll go over the entire painting with a fine bristled, dry brush and sort of smooth everything out.

ok, this one is a mod of sphinxmorpher's 'fiber image' (which i really like, btw). the mod changes the look completely from the string/fiber look, to a damaged painting look. this one is still very much under construction. it's a bit slow (2 min on this pic) and i'm not totally happy with the result yet, either. but, it's far enough along to post this.

well, soundproofing or no, it's still an interesting idea for a 'motel'.

yes, the idea of that mod was to show a damaged oil painting effect. but, it needs work yet.

glad you like them, carl smile:) lately, i've been modding a lot of stuff... tends to give me ideas.

hi steve,

this is from the 'ikat fabric' request by rosemary up in the 'suggest a filter' thread. here's a little about ikat fabrics: http://www.uzbekalive.com/ . i'd never heard of them before but they seemed very do-able in FF so, there we go, a start smile:)

i wonder if those 60's fabrics were copying the ikat look?

hi Craig- I agree the threads are looking better in these.Trying again to upload another example- it seems that different nations all have their own examples with different defining characteristics. I especially like the Japanese indigo ikats but they are usually bi-directional so they have more of a crosshatched effect. I love what you've done so far...really looking beautiful.

Way off topic.... smile:D Craig, I just saw on the news that Kentucky's #1 cash crop is marajuana.....and more than half of it grown in this country is in the eastern Apalation slopes of Kentucky.....even more than what is grown in California. To be perfectly honest, I'm not a drinker.....but I do like to "partake" in some "Kentucky Blue Bud" every once in a while..... smile:pimp: LOL.... From the way things seem to be going, it looks like it is going to end up legalized in this country.....it has already has been "de-criminalized" here in mass.....

hi rosemary,

yes, i had a feeling there were going to be quite a few varieties. i like those in your pic, especially the bottom with the goldenrod.

i'd like you to tell me at this point, what you think my images need yet. shld i work more on the thread look, more colors incorporated, better patterns, all of the above, none of the above? be brave; give it a critique smile;)

steve,

yes, marahoochie is the top crop in Ky. it took over some years ago. we've had folks plant it on us, usually out in the corn fields hidden from view. one year we were raided by the DEA. they spot it from the air. i was driving into our farm fields and parked out at the edge of the farm road was a DEA truck loaded with plants and several officers with those vests saying "DEA" on them. a helicopter was circling the area and guns were present. it kinda shocked me. you hear about folks growing the stuff on farmers, but that was the first i'd seen on us. they never even said boo to us, either. i guess they know that the local farmers wouldnt be stupid enough to plant on their own ground. that year, when we combined the corn, we found those all terrain vehicle tracks all through out corn and lots of corn plants knocked down. the DEA also didnt bother to reimburse us for our loss. pheh!

what's worse than the marijiwanee growers is the meth lab folks. these folks are scary and that also has increased quite a bit in the state. we use what's call anhydrous ammonia to fertilize the corn. it's in a compressed liquid state and comes in large tanks that we pull behind a tractor. as the stuff is released it decompresses into a gas that is pumped into the ground. the meth lab folks love this stuff for some reason. i guess they use it to process their crap. we've had quantities of that stolen. it's very dangerous to tap off of those tanks and the dealers are quite reckless about it at times. as that stuff comes out of the tank, because it's pressurized into a liquid, when it returns to a gas state, it also is extremely cold. you can easily freeze your fingers off or lose an eye or any number of injuries like that. it also stinks like ammonia and these dealers collect this stuff in very haphazard manners at times. quite mad, really. so, we tend to not let tanks sit in the fields over night any more.

yes, every few years, california tries to decriminalize it also. so far, no go. though, i hear swartenzeneger is trying again. lol. good luck. i agree it's pretty much a silliness to keep it illegal. it's just a bad game they've going that way. it shld be ended.

Sorry to hear that happened to you.....when large quantities of money are involved, I know people don't give a crap about anyone elsed but themselves.....

I don't blame you for being upset about it.....I guess the DEA looks at it like ".....just be thankful that we didn't prosecute you for it being on your land....." type of thing..... smile:|

Hi Craig- I think the latest looks more like a cheesecloth which is great for other uses. The most successful as far as the ikat in my opinion is the blue and green. Is it possible to do a stretch right next to a shrink of the colors- say vertically every 10 pixils would be affected- the first stretching- the next compressing so if you had horizontal bands of color you'd get a bargello effect.I can see how complicated it is- lol. I would love to see 4 colors. I've continued to play with different filters- combining them to try and get the right effect. I just found Uberzev's "Plaid Skillz" which I combined with Sjeti's Seventies and photoman's Multifun to achieve something believable- almost- uploading that.

yeah, i agree on the cheesecloth. i did about 12 different versions in fairly quick order just to see what i could spew out but none of it was really very good for the ikat. today, i played around some more and re-did the whole thread thing. again, nothing to really show worth a damn at this point. i'm going back to where i had the ones you liked.

on the stretch thing, i think i can get what you want with a noise distortion. i have got more color capacity now, but i might have to redo that, too. it's sort of fixed in place and i need more versatility to it.

i'd be happy to see whatever you've done with those other filters, btw smile:)

ok, i've played with this some more and i'm liking the thread better now, but, it may still be too coarse in some cases, so let me know. i'm adding three pics here, all from the same filter, but which show some differences in thread and color. let me know which you like.

and as for more colors, i'm still getting the thread down right. i havent forgotten about the additional colors smile:)
