thanks, CF.

on my rig, i get more depth and parallax out of easy and depth of. they both set the image back in depth a fair amount. basic gives me some, but not as much.

i also took easy and copied the entire routine into my filter. everywhere there was an 'image' component, i just plugged my routine into it. man, you must have just about gone blind making all these, or at least cross-eyed. but it works smile:)

i wont release mine with your routine in there, but i had to look at it.

the best one you've done, ON MY RIG, is still that statue one i mentioned in your thread. well, best for popping OUT of the screen rather than setting it back in the screen.

Sometimes I can see them without the glasses..Some kind of radioactivity from my monitor...Or just looking to long at them..

Try other filters with this also just that could take up an entire day.. Its fun to play with and see what else looks good with it..
Thats what I did for a while with this..

I downloaded it and how cool..Nice blending between the abstrcts.A Lot of controls
but they work well together..Heres a pict I just made and if you get the right color
combo it looks as if its hanging over.

Kraellin, just tried it.....awesome!!! smile:)

This got me thinking of a screensaver program called "Dazzle" that allows you to save snapshots of a kazillion different patterns while its running....so if your interested....

Great work....opens a whole new door!!!

thanks, guys smile:) and thanks for helping me make it.

yes, CF, i really did try to cut down on the controls. but each one i left in seemed to make some nice changes and i just didnt have the heart to cut them and of course there was the additon of color smile:) i was going to put in an offset too due to how the randomization does things, but i figured folks could just adjust the size thing and that would be ok.

there were a ton of effects i cut out. i tried to limit it to just the original style. i even remapped a couple things to try to stay somewhat within that boundary. i may do an advanced version later, with no limit on the controls smile:)

i just love the patterns you can get out of the profile gradient. that sequence i used was pretty wild but not the wildest you can get. and, if you throw in some noise distortions, or other things, into the middle of those pro grads, you can really get wild. i have one version where i took the original 8 and copied them and plugged them into the beginning of the original group... hehe, fun smile:)

i like your pic, CF. almost looks like a coat of arms. now there's a use we havent seen yet out of FF... yet smile;)

and it was this filter in particular that got me thinking about having a controller switch (see the feature wish forum). i could cut six of those rotates in a hurry with such a controller.

stevie, thanks for the 'dazzle'. might be a great way to display a slide show to others. just copy your dazzle with all your pics and upload them for others. and it never ceases to amaze me just how many doors there are to be opened in FF smile:)

I just tried it and I think it is the wrong program.....it was called "Dazzle 5.1" and was much better than what I just gave you. Sorry about that....I'll find the right one.....I have it saved somewhere.....

nice, stevie. did you alter the filter a bit? i dont recall seeing anything quite like those. looks like you added a refraction in there and maybe something else.

and, i believe if you go to file, new, you can pick a larger image size.

Hey Kraellin smile:) I just did an external image blend at the end of it with a mode control in the panel. It was more efficient than using two filters....and I could see the result in one step. Just a little 10 second out-patient surgery smile:)

Your filter made me think of that old DOS-based version of Dazzle (5.1)....which would give you endless complex algorithmic patterning.....but I can't seem to find it.....

I hope this is helpful to you smile:) Like I said, I think this filter opens the door to a whole new world of possibilities.....

Nice!!! smile:) You are getting closer to a fractal templater....only much nicer because yours is smooth. I have heard alot of people mention that they wish FF had something like this....

If you like what I did to your filter, maybe you could put that version up as another filter.....and feel free to re-post the pics if you like them too....

fractal...hmmm, hadnt even thought of that.

ok, here's some others with a bit more refinement on the filter. the hard part is getting the glass look strong enough and then removing the parts that arent glass-like. it's closer, but not right yet.

i also decided to try making these non-square to see what would happen.
