Alrighty.....switching gears.....again.... smile:D .... smile:devil:

3D glass shapes with embedded 3D forms.....embedded bubbles omitted to speed things up so that I can slap these samples up quickly.... smile:D

Got part of the embedded form concept without all the scratch/refraction layers (like how Dilla did it in his Shark Tank filter).....which makes it way too slow to use with all the embedded form work. I'm going to perfect this.....or my name isn't Carl.... smile:| ..... smile:dgrin: LOL....

Great work on the car pics! And I really like the embedded glass forms, especially the first one. It seems to have more depth to it for some reason.
There is nothing so simple that I cannot complicate it. I try to think of it as a gift.

Thanx Opal, glad you like them smile:) Embedding air bubbles/spheres is pretty easy.....embedding more complex 3D forms is turning out to be quite a challenge.....well, to do it without being so slow it takes days to render....but I will get it....damn it!!! LOL.... smile:hammer: smile:loveff: ..... smile:devil:

Finding that the "trick" here is to share/double the HDRI image with both the exterior and embedded forms.....which looks like I'm going to have to advance some more with scripts to achieve it.....

Multiple HDRI input/layering on surface result would be quite a shortcut to achieving it.....so now wondering if I can "script" my own result component to do that.... smile:devil:

Have you got any of your own HDRI images loaded in FF2, I had a few I loaded into FF1 but I don't think I have the patience to wait for them to load in again for FF2 unless they have sped the process up ? smile:)

Nope, never done it for the same reason.....ridiculously slow. I use FF's "Entrance, Night" for everything....lowest noise ratio of all of them. I do want to try and upload some new ones, but probably wait for super quadruple quad-core machine.... smile:| .... smile:D

Anywho....just thought I'd mention that there isn't a single refraction component in any of my new glass filters....so they are fast.....love instant gratification.... smile;) smile:D

The red and black variant is too nice! How are you rendering those strange attractors? in FF?

Wow, I'm curious about how you implemented that - I gave up on trying to find a way to combine strange attractor rendering with the free FF sampling approach...

How fast is it for a 600x600 rendering?

Thanks.....glad you guys like them.... smile:)

I have a programming buddy who is helping me set these up.....and trying to teach me the scripting at the same time. I don'r fully understand it all myself yet....but I'm gaining on it slow but sure.....

Rendering these 2D images is taking anywhere from half hour to an hour on a dual core, 3GHz, 4 gig RAM machine....and I can imagine that it is going to be excruciating longer once I break into 3D with them....

I will share with you guys once the scripts become more of my own intellectual property.... smile:)

BTW.... After base images are rendered.....which come out in gradiented greyscale matt.....I put the images through further filtration to add color, relief embossing, etc.....and viola.....art!!! smile;) smile:)

Those actually reminded me of that as well....making the patterns with the plastic gears about 100 years ago....probably doing this as an unfulfilled artistic holdover from my childhood.... smile;) smile:)

I agree with craig they are something new and vibrantly original and much more interesting than the millions of fractuals out there already, the only ones that excite me are the 3d ones like sphinxs, that are some thing new ...... hey just my opinion put down the gun smile:D
