Crapadilla's Junkyard

I'll blatantly steal Kraellin's excellent idea and open up my very own little 'Unposted' stuff thread. Here I'll post images from forgotten filters I never got arouns to finish...

Let's kick things off with one of my earliest filter attempts that has been sleeping for ages now. I started this when I came upon a little tutorial, but got bored with it pretty quickly and moved on to other stuff...

CUBIK'S BRICKS

This one is a spin-off of my 'Unstable Weave' filter:

ZIGZAG WEAVE

This early one was waaaaaay too cheesy to submit. Don't know why it's still in my folders...

MATRIX CUBED

This one eventually spun off to become 'Sands of Time' at some point, though the original idea was that of a CRUST being torn open, revealing some molten lava underneath...

I have absolutely no idea what this is... other than a weird outcome of some mad experiment with offsets...

Some techno surface that reminds me of vertically scrolling shoot'em up games... I always keep experimental heightmap stuff like this as it might come in handy in future texturing projects...

Experiments on a STONE CARVINGS filter... this eventually turned into WormCraft™ at some point though. Still, I like the erosion effects of these.

This one takes erosion to the extreme...

After a second looksie.....I found this one to be remarkably close to a sponge effect.....

I like this one as is...You could almost combine that with a charcoal filter..Would be kinda interesting..

Thats it, I was trying to think of what that looked like..It does have that sponginess

well, i'm boycotting this thread...flagrant rip-off of my thread! bloody non-conformists gotta have their own thread... hrrrmmmph!

of course, if i werent boycotting i'd say that first one would be a good one and i love the weave one also. and the crust one has real potential too. then there's the annual rings one; that one needs to be finished and submitted... good idea. ruin walls is a good 3d texture type and could borrow from the rubik's bricks with missing foreground pieces. and the stone carving ones have a lot of possibilities, including marble and sandstone and like steve said, sponge.

but, since i'm boycotting this thread, you didnt hear me say any of that!

My junkyard is so big I get lost in it for weeks at a time.

Nice job Dilla, I like that sponge effect.

This is a silly little idea that I didn't develop too far yet... DUNGEONS! It's from a little fictitious game called 'Quest for the Golden Pick'.

Nice Crapadilla, I can almost hear the sounds of a NES in the background..
