VEEEEEERY NICE!
![]() You could add some control over HSL variation, and maybe material roughness... --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;) |

Ok, got one color, a color variation which affects lightness and saturation (don't think huey would look good).
And I'm working on that roughness, which is difficult because it's a simple filter (not a surface). I've now applied a noise distortion but it still won't look right (especially zoomed in). I should find a way to make those hard egdes look more fiber-like. ![]() |

It would be nice to be able to get a bump map out of your filter, so you might want to give that one a second thought... ![]() ![]() --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;) |

Also, how about some broken parts or missing threads?

Looks like good ideas flying in the air
![]() I've already done "Wooden Weave" filter and going to submit it as continuation of my weave filters. It's very simple and fast filter yet (less than 1 minute on my machnie (with anti-aliasing)). But main idea for future updates: Make a "Universal Wooden Weave" filter which will include all the most popular patterns and also new non-classic weave types. Sjeiti, maybe We could make this filter together? Result We can add under Your name. Some samples from my filter: Wooden Weave Preview N1.jpg ![]() Wooden Weave Preview N2.jpg ![]() Wooden Weave Preview N3.jpg ![]() Wooden Weave Preview N4.jpg ![]() Wooden Weave Preview N5.jpg ![]() |

you guys are rockin! sjeiti, love what you did! dont add too much height. that type of weave is fairly flat. and constantin, those are also very good!
If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

Well, I am going to submit this as a separate filter. But you're welcome to bundle it up into one big filter. It doesn't have to be in my name, I've already got my five HU's. I just hope I'll be able to cut down on render time. Going from simple to surface just quadrupled it. And Crapadilla, I'm trying hard to think of a way to erase threads, but haven't found one yet. |

Hmmm...
Does anybody have a solution to this? It's causing seams in my basket weave (since I implemented width as well): ![]() |

Had the same while was preparing my weaves. Cannot say exactly what You need in Your case as don't see snippet, but in my case decisions was the next: 1. Change THRESHOLD's controls - "Threshold" and "Smooth". Set it on more than "0". 2. Switch on ANTI-ALIASING or set it on more than "5" (not recommended - can be slow) 3. Try to see final RESULT as it can hide this. Here is Your modified "notstraight.ffxml" snippet where is shown the first way (1): notstraight - ways to fix.ffxml |

Yeah... I've been trying to smooth it .1. Didn't think of adding another threshold behind it... thanks.

Oh well... I've just submitted the simple non-surface version of the filter, since it's way faster that the unfinished surface version. I thought I'd be a pity to leave it getting dusty in 'My Filters'. I've recently picked up Processing again, so my Filter Forge sessions are a bit on their way down.
Constantin: if you like I can send you what I have so far on the surface version of this so you can see if it's usefull for your 'Universal wooden weave'. |
