What do you mean you overpainted it in Photopaint?
Was it a grayscale render originaly?

The original render had too much sharp details and dirty grayish colors. I decided to paint over as on a draft sketching, just for the fun and practice. I worked specially on the face and painted a backdrop. The result was still not satisfactory to me. So I tried several manipulations with some filters that I found here. Finally the emme's excellent "Sketchy Painting Filter" gave it that harmonious artistic touch that makes the model alive.
