What I do, and what you should do with your 3D filters is bend the texture to match the depth. Refract the color portion by the heightmap at a small refract number, like 6 or so. See, what caught me on to this was the Wet Stone filter by Vlad. He doesn't do anything to the color output, and I realized it looked like a colored noise with some reflectivity simply blended on top. It also happens to this, doesn't it just look like some lights are slapped on top of the tile noise color? If you refract it slightly, I guarantee a better result. smile:)
