Stacy, while I'm very flattered, I don't think it's ever a good idea to outright copy someones filter. I'm guilty of tweaking some of my favorites but I try to make sure it's at least unique enough or has some special new features. Stacy: Please don't do this again, with me or with others.

FF guys- does this warrant a filter removal? http://img167.imageshack.us/img167/696/badstacygl7.jpg

Yeah, that's about as blatant as it gets..... smile:|

Just write FF and bring it to their attention.....

Sorry KG, I thought this was an original..... smile:|

Haha don't be sorry! It's a compliment smile:D

Eh, I hate to nag the FF guys, but I suppose it would probably be smart to do so. It would suck to end up with low usage only because the userbase is split in two.

I don't have any problem if someone works from my filter and improves it. If that's a crime I'm "guilty" of doing it with Michael Tannoks Hazard stripes. I believe that the extreme increase in render speed and fixing the tiling problem warranted a new filter. (He already got HU from that anyhow so he's not losing anything smile:angel:. ) However, I don't think it's right to just make some new presets and stake a claim. I mean geez, there's not a single change!

It *could* be a sort of honest mistake, and/or Stacy just doesn't know that's kind of unkosher here. It also reminded me of an interesting idea I had that will probably die right here because I am too lazy to start a thread in the right forum area for it ha-ha. It would be interesting if there was a way to upload & share preset banks for already made filters. I am a part-time synthesizer geek, and people make presets/patches for both hardware and software synths and post them online a lot. It can be really really interesting to see someone else's take on how a synth should or can sound, and most likely could be as interesting to see other people's take on how or what a filter can look be set to look like. smile:)

Definitely, and you should contact FF to get it removed, I had a clone that FF removed and they had no problem with doing it smile;)

Yeah, it will affect usage on yours.....and I don't think FF want's their library filled with duplicate filters.....

----I recall making comments regarding uuk's copying at least twice, and I know someone else did with that 'truchet' filter minor-variation copy. Slightly different case, in that uuk did at least modify a component or two ha-ha. smile:p Anyways KGtheway2B could maybe message Stacy and ask her (can we assume it's a her, is that safe with the name Stacy ?) to take a look at this thread to see what's up, and then just ask FF to remove this filter, and it can all just be over, live & learn etc. smile:D

We've reviewed the two filters again -- yes, it does look like a clone has slipped through the reviewing procedure somehow. We have removed it. Sorry KGtheway2B.

Bella, do you have a program in place that "red-flags" a submitted filter as a clone or close variant to an existing filter in the library.....or are you on "manual" surveillance???
