Thank you so much jffe and Kraellin for your kind words! ^_^ Yes, this was the filter that was used on Step 4 & 5 of my Filter Forge & Anime Art thread -- one of the six, so to speak, ahahah... errr *digs around in giant bottomless bucket of happiness*

For those who haven't seen it, please:

Take a look!

Sakurama was used to create the lily field in Step 4 and the floating sakura in Step 5. There's a lot of cherry blossom trees where I live and they are coming into bloom, so hopefully I'll have some first hand reference for the future soon! ^_^

Very stylistic I guess then. I am not into anime/manga/etc. at all enough to know that cherry blossom petals are a must in that style of artworks ha-ha. I just thought it had a very slick and striking look to it. And to be honest with ya, I hate those water reflection from the bottom 1/3 down filters, which yours reminds me of a lot, but you've given that whole gimmick a completely new life with the flower petals, and adding some in the air. smile:) The overall sense of *motion* too, you must make good artwork, the detail in this filter is art by itself.

Thank you! ^_^ You do me too much honor! I hope to only make Sakurama better with time and experimentation. ~^_^~ One thing I'm currently looking into is more variation in petal size for more debt and more control over the petal's shading/lighting elements. Thank you all again for your encouragement! ^_-

Thank you once again for all your support! Sakurama has now Leveled Up to:

Sakurama Lv2!

New features are:

Glow/Outline
Glow feature that when turned to black becomes an outline on the petals for giving that oh so distinctive ethereal or cartoon look! The glow works excellent on night time scenes as exhibited by the below image -- one of my digital paintings with Sakurama Lv2.

Advanced Shadows
No longer is there just a single wall shadow option for the petals. Now, shadows can either be against the wall or on the floor and have more detail and control on them as well.

Petal Storm
To give an extra level of depth, there is now a new option called Petal Storm that creates a third layer of flying petals in the distance for a more grand scope.

Wind Control
The wind that blows the petals can now be modified to go to a certain direction, either creating elongated feather like particles or a linear breeze of a much of leaves.

New Controls & Refined Structure
I have reworked the component structure for increased efficiency and there are also some new controls, such as being angle to adjust the size of the actual flowers on the field.

Currently, I'm looking into making Sakurama have different shapes of petals that are more realistic as well as trying to find a way to have the flower field always stick at the bottom on vertical images, I hope to be able to upgrade it in the future with these abilities ^_^ Well, thank you for reading, I hope you enjoy using Sakurama!

Gorgeous presentation, Zephos. I would only hope more filter makers follow your example and create good documentation. For someone like me who seeks to gain an understanding of what I can do with a tool, well-crafted instructions which are memorable and accessible are super-important.

That looks like a lovely wall poster you have there. v2 of Sakurama looks like it has more depth, too, which is something I hoped to see after enjoying the original but finding foremost petals kind of rough in that regard. I could see a million bishonen bow their heads to you as they're romancing their neko-girls.

Gosh, it's things like this which make me wish for animated textures! Would it be possible for you to craft some enhancements like petals based on specific kinds of trees, e.g. maple leaves? So as to take the geography out of Japan? ^_^
I'm enjoying using Filter Forge to create http://torley.com/textures

zephos,

that last pic was all done in FF? if so, that's quite amazing.

Thank you Torley! That's a great idea you have there with changing up the petals/leaves to reflect different trees! In particular, I was trying to create a maple leaf, but it's a little hard to make them scatter naturally ^_^

Thanks for looking at the poster Kraellin! Sorry to say that only the Sakurama effect was done in Filter Forge, the rest of it was painted in Photoshop by hand and a graphics tablet, sorry to disappoint. -_- Technically, many of the elements in this picture can be substituted in Filter Forge like the water and light effects, but the original digital painting predates my experience with Filter Forge, so I didn't have those tools back then. Now that you mention it though, maybe I should give Filter Forge a try though when creating similar backgrounds ^_^

Zephos dropped bombs from day one, and even if he/she doesn't keep it up, then we've already won, to drop a bad rhyme ha-ha. Good to see people still posting about it and all. Some other thread worried/whining about teh "pros" not posting filters, and we already have 1/2 a dozen if not more "pros" amongst the beta testers/early adopters (CF, uber, whitedove, kraellin, even crazy volde), and new people like Zephos. There's lots more to come I'm sure, and people who share their talent like Zephos only make it that much better for us all. smile:)

Thank you so much jffe! ~^_^~ That's an incredibly uplifting compliment you've give to me and hope to live up to it even more! I've been on upgrading mode lately with my filters so I haven't released any new ones for a short while now, but I hope to have some interesting new ones out shortly ^_^ Needless to say, I couldn't have create even half of the filters that I've made if it wasn't for the help and support the people on this forum have extended to me including you ^_^

I'm most honored by your kind words Crapadilla! Actually, when I first started using Filter Forge, I was a big fan of your filters and the person who introduced me to Filter Forge actually mentioned you by name as a person to look up to (Your wizard avi also caught my attention, ahahah) ^_^

Thank you all for your support ^_^ Creating filters in Filter Forge has been one of the most rewarding creative experiences I've had in years!

Zeph, I'm just kidding too much recently, so don't worry!

By the way, this is kind of OT, but do you happen to know any trainer for level 50+? I think I might have gained enough experience to level up... smile;) smile:D

Dang, it happened again! smile;)

I definitely agree there. I'd been waiting and all but given up and real hope of Photoshop filters ever going the way of audio ones, in the roll your own, graphic modular environment way. I guess no one really believed it would sell, and hopefully FF proves that theory wrong.

That's about where I was/am currently. That and experimenting with some slightly more complex/time consuming filters. No rush though, the library is already pretty massive, and what's needed now is quality, not so much quantity as was once needed.

You probably could've thanks to the reverse engineering we have available, via opening the filters. It just might've taken a bit longer, and wouldn't have been as fun/motivating without the forums eh. smile:)
