I like this one and is a good idea and I have not thought to make and hexagonal kaleidoscope and is good that you have done this, but I prefer to have the egdes defined and not with a gradient as it was shown this morning, when this filter appeared for the first time and now it has been changed all the presets, and none of them is showing the full hexagon shape as it was shown before.

I wonder why you have deleted all the beautiful presets you had before and only leaved 6 non hexagonal presets (3 are made randomly by the submit wizard)

I mean although I also like the star shape or round shape you have already shown, I still prefer more the full hexagonal shape you can also do, because this way, you can make many different results and then you can tile the different hexagons you could make very easily in a graphic software.

And the big difference in this filter from other kaleidoscope filters is that for me, is the first one that shows the idea of SHAPE BASED results instead of filling all the available space as it happen with all the other ones.

Also good to try different push size settings

And using a low round setting with high spike you can get this kaleidoscope star shape with round points ends

And with maximum Scale Crystal value and modifying other settings you can get this nice shape

And then again modifying some settings you can get even another different shape different to the other ones aboves and is like thin sticks ordered like in a star shape as seen here

And making slightly thicker than the shape here above, and modifying the settings I got this kaleidoscopic little flower like
