^_^ The name definitely suits it! The first thing I thought was definitely Etch A Sketch! Which brings back fun childhood trauma of diagonal and curved lines and their level of impossibility to work with X_X The irony though is that Etch A Sketch masters can use the thing so effectively that their work practically looks like a real sketch, although it's beyond me how they can accomplish it!

Still my memories of using one definitely look a lot like this filter, ahahah ^_^ If I recall correctly, the classic Etch A Sketch didn't even have a percise way to erase, instead opting for mass exodus with shaking, let alone the fact that it continuesly drew and was impossible to lift off of the drawing surface to skip space... Good times! ^_^

Variation #2 is like a badly pixellizing blueprint ha-ha, I dig it, it's simple, but it looks good.
