i think this one is pretty amazing, but even more, i think it has amazing potential for showing how to do some pretty interesting flowers and other organics.
when you look at this filter within the engine, i'd also suggest opening up a new image on a white background. seeing these over the life preserver image is distracting. i'd also suggest using a new image size quite a bit larger than the default of 600 x 600. i did it in 1024 x 1024 and it still wasnt quite large enough. and, i'd also suggest turning the anti-aliasing samples up to about 25 or so. the base 5 samples just isnt enough to get rid of the 'jaggies' here. very well done, volde! If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

yeah, i like this filter. i've altered it somewhat, adding a couple of kaleidoscopes and removing some of the blurs (for speed). but, i've lost something also in doing so, so not sure where i'll go next. i'm trying to get a more random look with the 'flowers' so that i can do more differing shapes and figures. i may even toy with putting a stem on there.
i'm somewhat surprised we havent seen more 'flowers' and organics of this type. i would think the game folks would love stuff like this. If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

Now thats a nice twist to it I have one similar that I was working on but yours looks quite differnt and nice I was trying to add pistol and stamen to them so its a slow process some of yours look like exotic sea shells Im likeing the direction your taking
Its actually quite surprising what all the spoke method can produce glad i stumbled upone that one ![]() lets all whine for a wine port |

oh, i hadnt even thought of pistols and stamens. that could be tricky, but i like it. i was only thinking about adding stems
![]() and yes, it still amazes me the things you can do with FF. here's one, same filter, that came out quite differently. this one could really use a pistol and stamen (i can never remember which is the pistol and which is the stamen). ![]() If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

volde,
i shld also mention that i'm using two 'image' components in all of these to seed the patterns. it's quite interesting. if i use a blank, white 600 x 600 image i get those images i've posted here. if i use a photo image as the seed, things get quite odd and mis-shapened. and if i use a non-square photo, it really gets odd, but again, mis-shapened and noisy. If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!
