Good work! The only suggestion is to make it a little less grainy.

I like that! The first thing I thought of was moldy shingles on the side of a house from the 'slim' (mold) being towards the bottom of the tiles (shingles)....maybe faint longitudinal grooves, overlapping shadow effect at the bottom of each tile, and make the slime a little greener.....

Don't get me wrong, I like it as-is. Just a suggestion from the very first thing that popped into my mind when I looked at it.....

I'd second the suggestion to make the texture less grainy. And I'd try and make the noises less uniform.

That should all be adjustable. Each color has 2 shades. I'm using light and dark shades for the grainy look, but if you pick two colors that are closer together, you will have a more uniform color. The scale and cover of the rust can also be tweaked. Give it a try in Filter Forge and let me know if some things still need work. I tried to make it flexible.

Hmm, ok, so the center of the plates is still really rough when the rust cover is turned all the way down. I guess I need to fix that.

The shingles is an interesting idea, but I think that would have to be a different project (the tiles would need to look like wood). Should be pretty easy to create a gradient for the angle, though.

Feel free to take the slime and run with it (heh heh) if you want to make some slimy shingles of your own.

Ok, I've submitted an update to the texture. This is the new default preset:

Less grainy, a little larger and less uniform bumps and rust, and greener slime.

I've also added some more controls so you can even take the bumps completely out:

And for kicks, the same preset as the first image, with more shine:

In case you were wondering why it was so dark and grainy...

That's the old filter, and the normal maps aren't quite right (see this thread: http://www.filterforge.com/forum/read...9&TID=1476 ).
