I like this filter a lot... The colors are pretty, and the subtle depth effect is gorgeous.

Hooray, it's up! So far it's only good for a pretty picture. I plan on making an option to show the foam mask which would be useful to 3D artists. I'm not sure it would get much use otherwise, lol.

Interesting. This would make really nice wall covering for a surfboard or swimwear shop.

I was working on the same exact filter yesterday, except mine is horizontal. Oh well, it's not really in my field anyway. I like it!

Very kool, I like this one a lot. Only thing I would like to see is if there was a option to get rid of the sand and just have that part transparent. I haven't figured out how to edit filters yet or i'd try it my self.

Amazing filter BenBeckwith.
Just some suggestions for future updates. - Get a new slider for sand contrast only below the water; - Get a new slider for water offset, but working as 'noise distortion', so you get to make it a little different from the wave and this way don't give the impression of a wave's shadow as the wave were levitating or flying. When a wave goes back the wet sand isn't always equal the wave shape. Anyway, the way it is, it's a stunning filter. Congratulations! |

Nice job! ![]() Here's a rendering with my caustics effects. Maybe I shouldn't have applied the refractions to the foam, but here it is anyway. 8 min 2 sec on my machine, probably half that on yours... ![]() |

Thanks for the kind comments and suggestions. I'll try and get some of the requests in there for an update. This was the first filter I made from start to finish in one night (about 3 hours). I think I'm going to rework it so the node network is smarter. It's currently not very flexible (or super fast) as you can see in the presets.
Betis, my apologies, it's tough coming up with something original for FF these days. When I realized this hadn't been done (as far as I know) I jumped right on it hehe. There's no reason there can't be 2, there's multiples of most everything else hehe. Ray, I didn't consider caustics, I might try and get some in there (with your blessing ![]() |

Nice work Ben!
at least 90 percent of all sensation is texture, even beyond the visual, with elements of noise, tone, gradients, interval and degree.

Don't feel bad at all Ben, I have never said anything about it, and it's not in the library, there was no way you could have known.
![]() Besides, I already gave up, I was trying to make it a surface filter, and this looks better, and I never put much heart into it. Once you get lifetime upgrades, you start lacking motivation... ![]() Roses are #FF0000

I'm working on making it useful (as much as it can be lol). So far I've got it looking about the same but rendering in 1/3 the time. Optimizing is so much fun

Hello Ben,
I used parts of this filter (the foam) for a thing I did, was much quicker than making it myself ![]() - I never expected the Spanish inquisition |
