As I was putting this snippet into my hazard stripes filter (big improvement from what I had before
I didn't try it on non-square images or anything fancy like that, so I'm not sure if it addresses any issues you might have fixed in your version Stripes again Snippet fRevampt.ffxml |

Actually if you look at the stripe style slider its exactly for that soft smooth etc
the simplest method to get exactly the type gradient you need is to plug a curve into a gradient and then plug that gradient into the shape input lets all whine for a wine port |

i prefer the impulse plateau method.
If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!
