just added these options.
Alpha on or off
offset H
offset V
vertical or horizontal
Angle (this works but not as well as I would like)
It moves the bottom of the strike about 40% one way or the other. Better than nothing I suppose.

Well I just submitted the update and afterwards realized I somehow missed the fact that it wasnt using a background image. So the option for that has been added as well and will be submitted later today.
So now you can turn on and off the background image as well as turning on and off the alpha channel.

Does it have any spread to it, like discharging static emitting out from the main bolt of lighting?

It has an intensity setting that controls the glow amount but I dont think its like what your talking about.

Yes it does look better over a dark background
Well, I can always put in the little static if i need it, but it turned out looking good with this particular fellow's portrait   ~Foxxee~

In the update I'm doing it has the option for a transparent background, over a black background or over an image.
