umm, not my cup of tea. the inverted, high color curves types just dont appeal to me that much (though you do have some notable exceptions in other filters). i like certain aspects of a few of these pics, usually on the vase, but it's just too 'busy', a little 'dirty' and tries to overpower without the aesthetic value. it's like a used car salesman shouting at you, 'BUY THIS!'. sorry, i dont normally like to make comments like this, but you just had to ask the rimming light effect is kind of interesting, and some of the surfaces on the vase, and even a flower or two, but overall, it doesnt quite do it for me.

steve, art is such an apples, oranges sort of thing, that i rarely do 'critiques' any more. i have a 'good eye' for me, but not necessarily for anyone else. so, normally, i just comment on the stuff or aspects of something that i do like. but you just had to ask, didnt you yeah, the 'used car salesman' was a bit over the edge, perhaps, but it somewhat conveyed what i meant

and you know i love a lot of your stuff, so i wasnt too worried you'd get all hurt. though, when you didnt post anything in this thread for a bit, i was beginning to get worried

yeah, i do understand the value of an honest critique. some of the best help i ever got in retouching and photo art was from a woman who just said what she saw, but was also talented enough to give direction as well. i have the 'eye' but not always the direction

This is a nice filter. It makes the most beautiful colors and tones for photos of flowers. It is very moody with the dark backgrounds. I turn the size down to zero so the gloss doesn't have any depth and the colorations can be pretty great. Many of Steve's colorful, glossy filters seem to do that. With Art Gloss Extreme, I get effects that look like botanical prints. I have several stock photos that I use to experiment with my FF filters. The ones with a white background seem to be the most stunning, but that's not always true. It just depends on the photo.

Anyhow I am glad I downloaded this series of glossy filters. I have been having a ton of fun playing around. I have even gutted the filter and made my own versions to get some interesting variations.
