I have a number of components that I would like to add for my use or maybe share with others. Is it possible to build a component or do we have to convince FF to do it?
Thanks,

I'm not going to purchase FF if I can't add components.
They are missing a very large market who can and will pay the price. The freebie business will not sustain them.

I hear ya.....you are certainly not the first person to mention wanting that ability with this software. I personally am in love with it because of the 'plug n play' node based aspects of it.....and now I'm able to create anything I want in a fraction of the time it took me with the SDK. There are some limitations, but I'm sure these will be overcome in time..... Steve

Im still waiting for the toolbox/grouping feature, that will allow you to make your own filters to a certain level, maybe once thats added some lower level stuff to make that even better like a custom code module with its own command lines for lighting effects etc and you could make inputs for sliders, colors and controls etc. That would be great and would speed up the wait for new filter based features no doubt as the community could develop their own ones, then a dedicated module could be added later on if needed.

Have FF given any time for these items? I'd be willing to code some conponents for a free copy of FF. I have plenty of image processing/programming experience.

Well i know the toolbox/module grouping idea is planned but i have no idea as to when, hopefully it won't be a long time, not sure about the low level/code stuff but i hope thats coming at some point also. Maybe the devs should make a module SDK where members of the community could code custom modules and post them on the forum etc, would be another cool idea.

no idea, ron c. contact them. vladimir would be the one you want to talk to if possible.
also, on the list is scripting. so, yer not the first person to mention or want something like this. the wish list is quite long. takes time. and like the others mentioned, right now the mac version is being done.
what sort of other components were you interested in?

Ron -- you can't create your own components in the current version of FF.
Currently, FF doesn't include math components and has no plugin SDK. However, we're planning to add a range of math operations (such as add, subtract, divide, multiply, sin/cos, log etc...) in future versions. Possibly, scripting will be added as well, but that's a bit too early to discuss, as there are some technical complications to be resolved.
As for your request regarding the Offset component where you need to move the image one pixel up and right, you should keep in mind that Filter Forge doesn't operate on pixels -- it operates on samples. It is certainly possible to achieve a one-pixel offset -- you just need to pay attention to the value of the Size slider.

Vladimir,
Thanks for the response.
Can I hardwire the Size slider to 100?
